Just one week remains in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series regular season.  After Kevin Harvick secured himself a spot in the playoffs on points, only one spot remains in the 16 playoff positions.

After Ryan Blaney won his second race of the season at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday (Aug 22), Ford has won six races this season, tying Toyota in wins.  With 13 race wins this season, Chevrolet holds on to the manufacturers point standings with 927 points.  Ford follows with 862 points with Toyota coming in with 845 points.

Denny Hamlin led the points standings for most of the season despite not winning any races; with five race wins, Kyle Larson has taken over the points lead with 1,004 points, 28 ahead of Denny Hamlin.  Hamlin has clinched a spot in the playoffs with 976 points.

Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, William Byron, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch, Christopher Bell, Michael McDowell, and Aric Almirola have all secured spots in the playoffs via race wins; while Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick have clinched playoff spots with points.
