In race two of a triple header weekend, the Xfinity Series is at Michigan International Speedway for the New Holland 250.

After two weeks of road racing, the Xfinity Series returns to the traditional track for some good old fashioned oval racing.

Austin Cindric sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with AJ Allmendinger alongside on the front row.

After running the Truck Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway on Friday night, Jordan Anderson and Josh Berry traveled to Michigan to race in the Xfinity Series.

Michael Annett is still recovering from his leg injury; as a result, Josh Berry is taking over the driving duties of the JR Motorsports number one car.

Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace is driving the Hattori Racing Enterprises number 61 car after Corey LaJoie is under the Covid protocols and unable to race.

Lt Commander Jesse Iwuji has been doing some part time driving in the Xfinity Series. Beginning with the 2022 racing season, Iwuji will be driving full time in a new team of Iwuji and NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith.

Stages one and two of the race are 30 laps each with stage three lasting 65 laps for a total of 125 laps around the two mile track.

With a fuel load of around 47 laps, the drivers can complete the first two stages without making a stop for fuel; however, all of the drivers will have to make a pit stop for fuel in stage three.

Austin Cindric brings the field down for the gren flag start of the race from the inside lane. Cindric and AJ Allmendinger go side by side but Allmendinger takes the lead after Cindric gets loose. Drivers are getting three and four wide across the track.

Lap two, AJ Allmendinger leads the race by over a second and a half; Justin Haley, Ty Gibbs, Noah Gragson, and Austin Cindric round out the top five.

Only three laps into the race, AJ Allmendinger has already pulled out to a lead of two seconds on Ty Gibbs; Justin Haley, Austin Cindric, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap five, Austin Cindric passes Justin Haley for third; AJ Allmendinger leads the race by just under two seconds.

Lap seven, AJ Allmendinger has a two second lead on Ty Gibbs; Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap 12, AJ Allmendinger has led every lap so far; he has a lead of over a second on Ty Gibbs; Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, and Harrison Burton round out the top five. After starting back in the field, Josh Berry has entered the top 20. Bubba Wallace is just outside the top 20 in 23rd.

Lap 15, Ty Gibbs continues to eat into, AJ Allmendinger’s gap; which is now less than one second.

NASCAR displays the yellow flag on lap 16 for a competition caution.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for adjustments and service. The teams were given only three sets of tires for today’s race.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 21. Drivers get three wide across the track with Austin Cindric jumping out in front for the lead with Ty Gibbs in second and AJ Allmendinger in third.

The caution flag comes out on lap 22 when Caesar Bacarella gets into the wall after spinning out.

Allmendinger reports that he had difficulty getting the car into gear; adding that the shifter wouldn’t go into fourth on the pace laps.

A few drivers come down pit road for service. Drivers who stop now can make it on fuel to the end of stage two.

Ryan Sieg is on pit road with the hood up for a loose plug wire.

Justin Allgaier has to restart the race from the back of the field after the team was charged with an uncontrolled tire. Bubba Wallace also has to restart the race from the back of the field after a crew member came over the wall too soon.

Austin Cindric brings the field down for the green flag restart with just four laps remaining in stage one. Cindric takes the lead with Ty Gibbs in second;Myatt Snider, AJ Allmendinger, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

After having to start the race from the last spot due to a driver change, Josh Berry has entered the top 10 in ninth place.

With a lead of over a second, Austin Cindric wins stage one for his ninth stage win of the season.

Allmendinger climbs the fence after doing a big burnout to celebrate his second win in six days.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Austin Cindric winning the race off of pit road with AJ Allmendinger in second.

On pit road Ty Gibbs and Myatt Snider make contact; sending Snider into the curb hard.

Josh Berry, Matt Mills, and Ryan Vargas were all charged with having a crew member come over the wall too soon and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Sam Mayer has to take his car to the garage for repairs after having some gear issues.

After staying out on the track, Jeb Burton for the green flag start of stage two on lap 36 and gets out in front of Tommy Joe Martins for the lead.

Cars crash bringing out the fourth caution flag of the race. Austin Cindric, Myatt Snider, Daniel Hemric, Bubba Wallace, Joe Graf Jr, Justin Haley, and Brandon Brown were all involved. Myatt Snider got loose and makes contact with Brandon Brown and the rest were caught up in the melee.

NASCAR has held Myatt Snider two laps after the gas man did more than fuel the car on his pit stop.

Austin Cindric’s car is smoking from the rear and there are reports that he is dropping fluid on the track.  The sheet metal on the front of his car is gone.

Jeb Burton brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 46 and gets out in front for the lead with Tyler Reddick in second.  Ty Gibbs takes second.

Daniel Hemric, Joe Graf, Brandon Brown, and Austin Cindric are out of the race.

Lap 50, Jeb Burton has a narrow lead on AJ Allmendinger; Justin Allgaier, Ty Gibbs, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap 51, Harrison Burton and Noah Gragson battle for fifth.

Justin Allgaier takes second from AJ Allmendinger.

Ceasar Bacarella and Myatt Snider were unable to make minimum speed and are out of the race.

Lap 54, AJ Allmendinger retakes second and is on leader Jeb Burton’s bumper.

Ty Gibbs makes it a three way battle for the lead with AJ Allmendinger taking the lead; Jeb Burton, Ty Gibbs, Justin Allgaier, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

There are 31 cars on the lead lap.

Justin Allgaier reports a very lose condition.

With four laps remaining in stage two, AJ Allmendinger has a lead of over half a second on Ty Gibbs.

Sam Mayer is back on the track 25 laps down.

Lap 70, Josh Berry passes Jeb Burton for fourth.  AJ Allmendinger has a half second lead on Justin Allgaier.

Lap 72, Harrison Burton reports that he has a vibration and some smoke in the cockpit.

Lap 73, Harrison Burton makes an unscheduled trip down pit road.  The crew changes right side tires.

Lap 74, AJ Allmendinger holds on to a half second lead on Justin Allgaier.

Lap 78, AJ Allmendinger leads the race with Justin Allgaier in second; Josh Berry, Brandon Jones, and Ty Gibbs rounding out the top five.

Harrison Burton is the last car on the lead lap in 32nd.

Lap 82, leader AJ Allmendinger reports reports vibrations on both right side tires…like they are missing a lug nut.

Lap 85, Justin Allgaier has caught up to leader AJ Allmendinger and begins to challenge for the lead.

Lap 87, Josh Berry makes it a three way battle for the lead with Josh Berry coming from the outside to pass both drivers for the lead on lap 88.

Lap 89, the top five are Josh Berry, AJ Allmendinger, Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, and Ty Gibbs.

Lap 91, Justin Allgaier gets around AJ Allmendinger for second.

With 34 laps remaining in the race, drivers still need to make a pit stop for fresh tires and fuel.

Lap 94, Josh Berry has pulled out to a lead of a second and a half on Justin Allgaier; AJ Allmendinger, Brandon Jones, and Ty Gibbs round out the top five.

Lap 96, there are only 17 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 101, leader Josh Berry puts Harrison Burton one lap down to make only 15 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 104, Noah Gragson is the first driver to come down pit road and beginning the cycle of green flag pit stops.

Lap 105, there are only 12 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 106, Ty Gibbs comes down pit road for his green flag pit stop.  He has a long pit stop and is charged with the team having an uncontrolled tire.

Lap 107, Josh Berry has a lead of over two seconds on Justin Allgaier.

Lap 108, leader Josh Berry makes his green flag pit stop and gives the lead over the Justin Allgaier.

Lap 110, Justin Allgaier makes his green flag pit stop and takes fuel only.  Jeb Burton is the new leader.

Lap 111, Alex Labbe gets sideways while making his pit stop.

Lap 113, Jeb Burton is out of fuel.  He is slowly working his way around the track to reach pit road.

Justin Allgaier leads the race with Josh Berry in second; Brandon Jones, AJ Allmendinger, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Lap 117, the caution flag comes out for Jeb Burton stopped on the track out of fuel.

Brandon Jones makes a pit stop.

Riley Herbst comes down pit road with a vibration.

Leader Justin Allgaier comes down pit road for fresh tires.  Josh Berry is the new leader.

Josh Berry brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 121 from the outside lane with AJ Allmendinger alongside.  Only five laps remain in the race.

AJ Allmendinger takes the lead with a little push from Justin Allgaier.  Josh Berry passes Allmendinger for the lead.  There are eleven cars on the lead lap.

Four to go, Josh Berry and AJ Allmendinger battle for the lead with Allmendinger taking the lead.

Caution flag comes out on lap 122 after Jesse Little and Bayley Currey make contact.  Little hits the wall hard.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart and a two lap overtime shootout from the outside lane and gets out in front for the lead. 

The caution flag comes out when Mason Massey is stopped on the track after hitting the wall.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the second overtime start on lap 133 and battles with Josh Berry for the lead.

Ty Gibbs spins out and hits the wall bringing out the caution flag.

The race will go into an overtime start for the  third time.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag overtime start from the outside lane with Noah Gragson alongside.  With a little push from Brandon Jones, AJ Allmendinger gets out in front for the lead.  There are 14 cars on the lead lap.

In the longest Xfinity Series race at MIS, AJ Allmendinger wins the race after winning the crash filled road course race last week at Indianapolis in the Cup Series race.  This is Allmendinger’s third win of the season.
