The lug nut monster strikes again…

Over the weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway a total of six teams were charged with lug nut violations when NASCAR issued penalties on July 13.

In the Xfinity Series, two teams had a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result the crew chiefs have been fined $5,000.

The teams are:
The Team Penske number 22 car driven by Austin Cindric with Brian Wilson as crew chief
The Joe Gibbs Racing number 54 car that was driven by race winner Kyle Busch with Chris Gayle as crew chief

In the NASCAR Cup Series, four teams were charged with having a single lug nut improperly secured during the post race inspection process. The crew chiefs were each fined $10,000.

During the post race inspection process the teams charged with a lug nut violation are:
The number 20 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Christopher Bell with Adam Stevens as crew chief

The Wood Brothers number 21 car driven by Matt DiBenedetto with Jonathan Hassler as crew chief

The number 23 23XL car driven by Bubba Wallace with Mike Wheeler as crew chief

The Hendrick Motorsports number 48 car driven by Alex Bowman with Greg Ives as crew chief

There were no penalties issued in the Camping World Truck Series after the race on the dirt at Knoxville Speedway.
