With less than two months before the start of the playoffs in the NASCAR Cup series, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape.

With his fifth place finish, Denny Hamlin holds on to the point lead but only by three points over Kyle Larson. With 798 points, Hamlin has seen his points lead diminish over the past several weeks as Hendrick Motorsports drivers continue to dominate with race wins.

HMS has notched 10 race wins this season with half of those going to the number five car driven by Kyle Larson.

In the manufacturers race, Chevrolet has 10 wins compared to four for Ford and six for Toyota. Chevrolet also leads in the points with 742; followed by Ford with 686 points and Toyota in third just one point behind with 685.
