Last week during the race packed weekend at Pocono Raceway, the lug nut monster was very busy when NASCAR penalized six teams for violating the rule for having all 20 of the lug nuts properly secured.

In the NASCAR Cup Series four teams were penalized after the Pocono Organics CBD 325 on Saturday.

The number four Stewart-Haas Racing car driven by Kevin Harvick with Rodney Childers as crew chief,
The number 12 Team Penske car driven by Ryan Blaney with Todd Gordon as crew chief
The number 18 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Kyle Busch with Ben Beshore as crew chief
and The number 23 23XI Racing car driven by Bubba Wallace with Mike Wheeler as crew chief
were all charged with having one lug nut improperly secured and the crew chiefs were fined $10,000 each.

After the Xfinity Series Pocono Green 225 on Sunday two teams were charged with lug nut violations when the number 22 Team Penske car driven by Austin Cindric with Brian Wilson as crew chief and the number 18 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Daniel Hemric with Dave Rogers as crew chief were each charged with having a single lug nut improperly secured and the crew chiefs were fined $5,000.


Joe Gibbs Raicng crew member Micah Horton has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR for violation of the NASCAR’s conduct policy. Horton has been a mechanic on the Xfinity Series JGR number 18 car driven by Daniel Hemric. Prior to that he was listed as the car’s car chief.

NASCAR officials did not specify exactly what the violations were.
