New York City’s cultural society has been closed down for nearly a year and a half due to the lock down associated with the Covid-19 virus.
But as the city begins to open up; Broadway, and other cultural events are getting ready to reopen. Broadway has already set the dates for its opening dates for later in the summer; and now Carnegie Hall has planned their schedule for the 2021 and 22 season.
The season will include some favourites including performances by Jessica Voskn Laura Benanti, and Norm Lewis. Kristen Chenoweth, Yo-Yo Ma,Yuja Wang, and Emanuel Ax will make special appearances during the season; Tony DeSare, Capathia Jenkins, Julia Wolfe will also perform.
Along with the usual season’s offerings, Carnegie Hall has planned an Afrofuturism festival that will span the city and a Perspectives series with Jon Batiste and Leonidas Kavakos.
