This past weekend, the Xfinity Series ran the road course at Mid-Ohio; while the Cup Series took on the road course at Sonoma in northern California.
While there were a few speeding penalties, uncontrolled tires, and so forth; however, after the post-race inspection process, NASCAR has issued just one penalty this week.
There were no penalties issued in the Xfinity Series, but in the Cup Series the number 19 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Martin Truex Jr was found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result, crew chief James Small was fined $10,000 for the infraction.
Looking to make it three wins in a row on the road course in Sonoma, Martin Truex Jr finished the race in third place after starting the race in the middle of the pack.
