During the inaugural races at Circuit of the Americas several teams were penalized during the races for speeding on pit road and in Cup Series race on Sunday, Austin Dillon was black flagged for short cutting the esses.

But in the penalty report on Tuesday, NASCAR has issued only one penalty for a lug nut infraction.

In the inspection process after the Pitt Boss 250 on Saturday, Xfinity Series number eleven Kaulig Racing car driven by Justin Haley was found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result of the infraction, crew chief Alex Yontz was fined $5,000.

Haley returned to the track in Austin after missing the race at Darlington due to Covid protocols. Haley did not have the virus or test positive but he was exposed to someone who did.
