This weekend NASCAR will make history when all three of the sport’s racing series travels to Austin, Texas to take on the Formula One track Circuit of the Americas.

But before the drivers take to the track in the 3,400 pound cars, several of them will take to the virtural track for some Pro Invitational Series iRacing.

Tonight’s race is 32 laps in length around the 3.41 mile track. Only green flag laps will count and the drivers get two car resets in case of a crash.

COTA features 20 turns taken from some of the most iconic Formula One tracks in Europe.

James Davison brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and get three and four wide on race start with James Davison taking the lead.

The top five are James Davison, Anthony Alfredo, Tyler Reddick, William Byron, and Michael McDowell.

James Davison has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Anthony Alfredo.

Lap two, James Davison has pulled out to a three second lead on Anthonuy Alfredo with William Byron in third; Tyler Reddick and Micahel McDowell round out the top five.

Michael McDowell gets around Tyler Reddick for fourth.

Chase Elliott is one lap down.

Lap three Brad Keselowski wrecks but the track stays green.

Justin Haley is iRacing tonight and after being exposed to someone with Covid last week, he has been cleared to return to the track this weekend.

Lap eight, James Davison has a five second lead on Anthony Alfredo with William Byron in third nearly eight seconds back; Michael McDowell and Josh Bilicki round out the top five.

Ryan Blaney makes an off road excursion but the track stays green.

Lap nine, James Davison continues to dominate the race and now has a six second lead on Anthony Alfredo; William Byron, Michael McDowell, and Josh Bilicki round out the top five.

Joey Logano gets spun out after some contact with Austin Dillon.

There are 35 cars on the lead lap with Clint Bowyer the last car on the lead lap.

Lap eleven, James Davison now has a lead of over seven seconds on Anthony Alfredo; William Byron, Michael McDowell, and Josh Bilicki round out the top five.

Lap 12, James Davison has an eight second lead on Anthony Alfredo.

A few drivers have come down pit road for fresh tires on a two stop plan. Drivers can run 18 to 20 laps on a single load of fuel.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr spins out but the track stays green.

There are 33 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 13, James Davison has led every lap so far and has an eight second lead on Anthony Alfredo.

Lap 14, nearly a minute behind the leaders, Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon battle for positoin.

Ryan Newman is the last car on the lead lap in 33rd position.

James Davison has pulled out to a nine second lead on Anthony Alfredo.

The course at COTA has plenty of space for drivers to recover if they get spun out or off the track.

Lap 15, the top five remains James Davison, Anthony Alfredo, William Byron, Michael McDowell, and Josh Bilicki.

More drivers begin to come down pit road for service.

Some of the drivers are comparing the course at COTA to someone putting Sonoma and Watkins Glen in a bowl and mixing it up.

Lap 18, James Davison continues to lead the race by nine seconds over Anthony Alfredo with 33 cars on the lead lap.

With 17 laps remaining in the race, leader James Davison makes his pit stop and hands the lead over the Anthony Alfredo.

Lap 16, with green flag pit stops continuing, Anthony Alfredo is the leader with William Byron, Josh Bilicki, Michael McDowell and James Davison.

Lap 17, James Davison retakes the lead with 33 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 18, the top five are James Davison, Anthony Alfredo, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Chris Buescher.

Lap 19, James Davison continues to dominate the race with Anthony Alfredo in second; William Byron, Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher round out the top five.

Lap 20, James Davison has a lead of over 13 seconds on Anthony Alfredo; William Byron, Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher round out the top five.

While the drivers are spread out throughtout the track, there have been plenty of battles between drivers.

Lap 21, Anthony Alfredo has closed the gap on leader James Davion to just under 12 seconds.

Clint Bowyer spins out once again.

Ten to go, Anthony Alfredo continues to edge closer to leader James Davison; Davison is now less than eleven seconds in front of Alfredo.

Lap 23, James Davison continues to dominate the race with an eleven second lead on Anthony Alfredo; William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Chris Buescher round out the top five.

Only seven laps remaining in the race, James Davison has a 10 and a half second lead on Anthony Alfredo with William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Chris Buescher rounding out the top five. There are 33 cars on the lead lap.

Kyle Tilley, who is in the iRace tonight, will be joining the Cup Series drivers on Sunday. Tilley is a champion IMSA driver.

Six to go, James Davison continues his 10 to eleven second lead on Anthony Alfredo.

Earning the fan once again in overwhelming fashion, Jesse Iwuji is in the race. Once again the naval commander presents a background of fighter jets.

Only four laps remain in the race, James Davison has lead every lap except for his pit stop lap and has a lead of over eleven seconds.

Joey Logano was black flagged to make a mandatory repair.

Three to go, the top five are James Davison, Anthony Alfredo, William Byron, Chris Buescher, and Denny Hamlin.
