Illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher died January 13, 2021 in his Las Vegas home as a result of pancreatic cancer at the age of 81.
Fischbacher was half of the illusion duo Siegfried and Roy. Partner Roy died last year at the age of 75 as a result of complications form the Covid-19 virus.
Siegfried and Roy spent years entertaining audiences on the Las Vegas strip with their illusions. The act was in danger in 2003 after Roy was attacked by white tigers used in the act. Siegfried and Roy were known for using exotic animals in their acts.
The duo officially retired in 2010.
The duo first teamed in while still in Germany in 1957 on a cruise ship with Roy as Siegfried’s assistant. They gave their first performance in Las Vegas in 1967.
Besides making magic, Siegfried was one of the executive producers for 13 episodes of the television series “Father of the Pride”. He is also credited as an actor in “Showboy”, “Ocean’s Eleven”, “Vegas Vacation”, and “Lookin’ to Get Out”.
He was born in Rosenheim, Germany on June 13, 1939 where he began learning magic tricks while he was still a small child.

Siegfried & Roy are two German-American former entertainers who became known for their appearances with white lions and tigers. From 1990 until an injury ended their stage careers on October 3, 2003, the duo formed the show "Siegfried & Roy At The Mirage", which was regarded as the most-visited show in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
