The 2021 NASCAR racing season is still two months away, but NASCAR officials have already had to make a change to the schedule due to the Covid-19 virus.

When NASCAR travels to Daytona in February for Speedweeks, they will remain in the home of NASCAR for the whole month.

After the Daytona 500, the series was set to travel first to Homestead-Miami and then travel across the country for a road course race at Auto Club Speedway.  That race in California has been moved to the road course at Daytona.

With the relocation of the race at Auto Club in Fontana, it will be the first time in 24 years that there has not been a race at the two mile track.

The race at Homestead-Miami will take place after the first two races at Daytona.

With the changes the NASCAR schedule is currently:
Feb 7 Speedweeks begins with Daytona 500 pole qualifying
Feb 12-14 – Daytona International Speedway
Feb 19-21 – Daytona Road Course
Feb 27 & 28 – Homestead-Miami

Originally, the Camping World Truck Series was scheduled to race at Homestead-Miami for their second race of the season; now they will run the Road Course at Daytona along with the Cup and Xfinity Series.

Prior to NASCAR taking to the track, IMSA takes over the road course on January 30 and 31 for the annual Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
