It’s one of the biggest night’s on “The Voice” when nearly half of the singers will be eliminated.
On Monday night, 17 singers took the stage for the first live performances of the season.
The show began with the announcement that classically trained opera singer Ryan Gallagher has inexplicitly left the show. Rumours continue to float around social media and while Gallagher himself has yet to give an explanation, he did say that he did not drop out.
Host Carson Daly announced that the top four vote getting singers from each group will move on to the top nine; the coaches will each choose one singer, and the instant save will choose the final singer.
In the first results of the night, Team Kelly takes the stage. The first singer moving on to the top nine via fan vote is Desz.
Kelly chose to save her steal Cami Clune.
Next up is Team Gwen with the fans choosing to put Carter Rubin in the top nine.
Gwen chose to save her steal Ben Allen.
Team Blake takes the stage to learn their results with the fans choosing to put Ian Flanigan into the top nine.
Blake chose to save Jim Ranger.
Team Legend takes the stage to learn their results with the fan vote selecting John Holiday to move on to the top nine.
John chose to send Tamara Jade into the top nine.
Now it is up to the fans once again with the wild card instant save.
Tanner Gomes, Payge Turner, Worth the Wait, and Bailey Rae will all perform for the wild card instant save to fill the final spot in the top nine.
Madeline Consoer, Joseph Soul, Taryn Papa, Sid Kingsley, and Chloe Hogan have been eliminated from the competition.
Up first is Team Blake’s Worth the Wait with “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”.
Team Gwen’s Payge Turner sang the Rihanna song “Diamonds”.
Team Kelly’s Tanner Gomes sang “Pickin’ Wildflowers”.
In the final performance of the night, Team Legend’s Bailey Rae sang “Never Again Again”.
