The Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series kicks off another triple header weekend with the Chevrolet Silverado 250. This is also the last race in the first round of the playoffs for the Truck Series. At the end of the race two drivers will be eliminated from the playoffs.

During pre-race inspections the number 52 Halmar Friesen Racing truck driven by Stewart Friesen and the number nine CR7 Motorsports truck driven by Codie Rohrbaugh were charged with rule book violations for having improper vent holes in the truck bed – the vent holes are for air intake only.

As a result of the infraction, both teams were docked 20 driver and 20 truck owner points. Neither driver is a part of the playoffs. Crew chiefs Trip Bruce III for the 52 truck and Dough George for the nine turck have also been suspended for the race,

Sheldon Creed sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Austin Hill starting alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are just 20 laps each with stage three lasting 54 laps for a total of 94 laps around the 2.66 mile track.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and goes side by side with Austin Hill for the first lap. On lap two, Austin Hill finally gets out in front for the lead.

Lap three, Austin Hill leads the race with Sheldon Creed swapping back and forth; Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, nad Christian Eckes round out the top five.

Talladega is one of only two tracks – Daytona the other one – where the drivers are not allowed to go below the double yellow line onto the apron of the track. Locking bumpers for a push is also prohibited.

Lap five, Austin Hill and Sheldon Creed continue to swap the lead back and forth; the remainder of the field also moves as the lead changes.

Lap six, the top five are Austin Hill, Sheldon Creed, Matt Crafton, Tyler Ankrum, and Christian Eckes.

Lap seven, Austin Hill has a tenth of a second lead on Sheldon Creed; Matt Crafton, Christian Eckes, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five with the drivers getting three wide across the track.

Grant Enfinger makes an unscheduled pit stop for a flat tire after a tire rub.

Lap 13, Sheldon Creed leads the race. The first caution flag of the race comes out for a crash involving several trucks including Danny Bohn, Zane Smith, Joe Nemechek, Chase Purdy, Dawson Cram, Spencer Boyd, and Korbin Forrister. Eleven trucks were involved in the wreck with seven drivers out of the race. A block by Sheldon Creed backed up the field and the accordion effect caused the wreck.

NASCAR has red flagged the race in order to get the track cleaned up and the wrecked trucks cleared.

Once the trucks get moving again, only two laps remain in stage one with Christian Eckes taking the lead on the green flag.

Todd Gilliland and Grant Enfinger had to make multiple trips down pit road for adjustments.

After staying out on the track, Derek Kraus brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 26.

Derek Kraus leads the race with Raphael Lessard in second; Johnny Sauter, Chandler Smith and Ben Rhodes round out the top five. The inside lane is leading the way.

Lap 27, Derek Kraus holds on to the lead with Johnny Sauter in second; Chandler Smith, Ben Rhodes, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Lap 29, Derek Kraus is in the lead with Johnny Sauter in second; Chandler Smith, Ben Rhodes, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Sheldon Creed has clinched a spot in the next round of the playoffs to join Austin Hill who earned his spot in the next round with a race win.

Gus Dean brings out the caution flag on lap 38 for a crash that gets him into the wall hard after making contact with Tanner Gray.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Brett Moffitt winning the race off of pit road taking fuel only.

Austin Hill made contact with a pit crew member coming out of his pit stall. The tire changer for that team is fine and back to work.

Brett Moffitt has clinched his spot in the next round of the playoffs.

Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 45 with Moffitt getting out in front for the lead.

The top five are Brett Moffitt, Sheldon Creed, Derek Kraus, Tyler Ankrum, and Johnnhy Sauter.

There are over 40 laps remaining in the race and the drivers are already getting aggressive.

Lap 47, there are 38 cars on the lead lap; Grant Enfinger is the only driver one lap down in 29th, the remainder of the field is off the track or out of the race.

The caution flag comes out on lap 48 for Tanner Gray and Todd Gilliland when it appears that Todd Gilliland’s engine appears to blow up. Tanner Gray spins out and hits the wall.

Todd Gillialnd is out of the race with a blown engine. The blown engine also eliminates Gilliand from the playoffs.

Grant Enfinger gets his lap back and is back on the lead lap.

Matt Crafton takes fifth from Ben Rhodes.

Lap 55, Sheldon Creed takes the lead.

Drivers get three wide across the track with Johnny Sauter taking the lead.

Lap 56, Ben Rhodes takes the lead with Sheldon Creed in second; Johnny Sauter, Derek Kraus and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Lap 57, Johnny Sauter takes the lead with Austin Hill in second.

Lap 58, the top five are Johnny Sauter, Austin Hill, Ben Rhodes, Sheldon Creed, and Derek Kraus.

Lap 59, Johnny Sauter holds on to the lead with Austin Hill in second; Ben Rhodes, Sheldon Creed, and Derek Kraus round out the single file top five.

Lap 62, Johnny Sauter continues to lead the race with Austin Hill in second; Ben Rhodes, Sheldon Creed, and Derek Kraus round out the top five.

The drivers will have to make a pit stop in order to complete the race; and will have to do so soon.

Lap 64, Austin Hill is the first of the lead pack to make a green flag pit stop. Many of the drivers are taking fuel only.

After serving his penalty for speeding, Austin Hill is the last car on the lead lap in 24th.

Seven to go, Stewart Friesen takes the lead after leader Sheldon Creed has some sort of issue with his truck.

Five to go, second place driver Tyler Ankrum is the only playoff driver in the top five.

In a two lap shootout, Stewart Friesen brings the field down for the green flag restart and gets out in front for the lead after a push from fellow Canadian Raphael Lessard.

Raphael Lessard gets the lead but Stewart Friesen retakes the lead and the white flat.

After getting three, four, and five wide, trucks start wrecking to bring out the caution flag. Austin Hill’s truck is on fire. Stewart Friesen and Christian Eckes are in the grass.

NASCAR has to relay on video evidence and timing loops Raphael Lessard is named the winner of the race for his first Truck Series career win.

Christian Eckes has been eliminated from the playoffs.
