It’s back to Daytona International Speedway for a doubleheader weekend and a little night racing when the Xfinity Series gets the weekend started with the WaWa 250 on the tri-oval.

After his win at Dover last weekend, Chase Briscoe sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Ross Chastain starting alongside on the front row.

It is appropriate that the drivers are racing at the World Center of Racing with a lineup that includes drivers from Canada and Scotland.

Riley Herbst’s number 18 car failed the inspection process three times and will have to start the race from the back of the field and serve a pass through penalty once the race starts.  And the team’s car chief has been ejected form the track.

NASCAR has called to fa competition caution on lap 10.

Stages one and two of the race are 30 laps each with stage three lasting 40 laps for a total of 100 laps around the two and a half mile track.

Chase Briscoe brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane and thanks to a push from Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe takes the lead.

Lap two the top five are Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, and Brandon Jones.

Lap three, Chase Briscoe is in the lead with Austin Cindric on his bumper; Ross Chastain is right behind on third.

The four JR Motorsports cars are lined up nose to bumper on the outside lane led by Noah Gragson who has signed on to remain with JRM next season.  The four drivers are looking to run down the leaders on the inside lane.

The caution flag comes out on lap six when Joe Graf Jr hit the was hard after some contact in an on track incident and causing some significant damage to the car.  Graf is depositing debris all around the track.  NASCAR has announced that this will serve as the competition caution.  The team told Graf to take the car to the garage.

This weekend, the Choose Rule is not in play, the drivers must line up according to position and have no choice of whether they want the inside or outside lane.

Chase Briscoe brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap eleven with Chase Briscoe edging out for the lead with Austin Cindric in second and Justin Haley in third.

The drivers are getting three wide across the track.

Lap 13, the top five are Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, Harrison Burton, Justin Haley, and Brandon Jones.

Caesar Bacarella brings out the caution flag on lap 14 after getting into the grass with a damaged car. 

Scottish driver John Jackson also got turned around on the track.

Chase Briscoe brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 18 from the inside lane but gets a challenge from Harrison Burton for the lead.  On lap 19, Chase Briscoe gets out in front for the lead with Austin Cindric in second; Justin Haley, Harrison Burton, and Ross Chastain round out the top five

Caesar Bacarella and Joe Graf Jr are out of the race with John Jackson off the track, 

After making a pit stop during the caution flag, the JR Motorsports drivers have come from the back of the field to move into the top 10.

Lap 23, Chase Briscoe continues to lead the race.

Justin Haley has taken the lead from Chase Briscoe; Ross Chastain, Anthony Alfredo, Chase Briscoe, and Brandon Brown round out the top five.

Lap 24, Riley Herbst started the race with a pass through penalty, he is now in the top 10.

Lap 25, Jeffrey Earnhardt and Kody Vanderwall bring out the third caution flag of the race for a crash.  BJ McLeod was also involved in the crash and has some damage to his car.

The drivers were four wide across the track when the caution flag came out.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for a one lap shootout to end stage one with Justin Haley alongside on the front row.  With a push form Austin Cindric, Justin Haley gets out in front for the lead.

Drivers bring their cars down pit road for service with Ross Chastain winning the race off of pit road as several of the drivers took only two tires.

After staying out on the  track, Timmy Hill brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 35 and gets out in front of Alex Labbe for the lead.

Lap 35, the top five are Timmy Hill, Alex Labbe, AJ Allmendinger, Brett Moffitt, and Myatt Snider.

Ryan Sieg may have some bumper damage to his car.

Lap 36, AJ Allmendinger takes the lead with Ross Chastain, and Justin Haley fill out the parade of team mates; Austin Cindric and Timmy Hill round out the top five.

Lap 38, AJ Allmendinger leads the race with Ross Chastain in second; Justin Haley, Austin Cindric, and Timmy Hill round out the top five.

Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe are the only Fods in the field.

Lap 40, the top five are AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Austin Cindric, and Timmy Hill.

Brandon Jones brings out the caution flag on lap 41 with a big crash. Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Myatt Snider, Michael Annett, Colby Howard, Anthony Alfredo, Alex Labbe, Daniel Haley, Tommy Joe Martins , Brandon Brown, Justin Allgaier, and Brett Moffitt, were all involved.  The drivers who were involved in the crash have six minutes to get their cars repaired enough to make minimum speed.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart with Ross Chastain alongside on the front row on lap 46.  AJ Allendinger gets out in front for the lead with Austin Cindric in second; Ross Chastain, Riley Herbst, and Justin Haley round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 47 for another wreck.  Justin Allgaier and Alex Labbe were again involved in the crash.  Allgaier reports that he blew a tire.  Joey Gase, and Jeremy Clements were also involved.

NASCAR has red flagged the race in order to get the track cleaned up. 

NBC Sports broadcaster Jeff Burton reports that out of the 37 cars that started the race, 23 of them have been involved in a wreck and the race has yet to reach the halfway point.

Even though the sun has gone down, the air temperature is 87 degrees with a humidity about the same; causing some very hot conditions for the drivers; especially while they sit in the cars under a red flag condition.  NASCAR crews are passing out bottles of water to the drivers.

NBS Sports broadcaster Dale Earnhardt Jr noted that during a normal race a driver can lose around eight pounds…even more on the really hot days.

After a delay of about 10 minutes, NASCAR pulls the red flag and displays the yellow flag.  The drivers get moving again with some bringing their cars down pit road.

AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 50 from the inside lane.  Allmendinger and Austin Cindric go side by side in a battle for the lead with Allmendinger taking the lead.

The top five are AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, and Riley Herbst.

The caution flag comes out on lap 53 for debris on the track.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for service including the leaders.

The top five are Riley Herbst, Harrison Burton, Gray Gaulding, Austin Cindric, and AJ Allmendinger.

There are 25 cars remaining in the race with 12 drivers out of the race.

Lap 57, Gray Gaulding takes the lead.

Drivers bring their cars down pit road for service with Chase Briscoe leading the way after taking fuel only.

After staying out on the track, AJ Allmending brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 65 and jumps out in front for the lead.

The top five are AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Sieg, Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, and Riley Herbst.

Ross Chastain takes second place with Justin Haely in third.

Ryan Sieg has been black flagged and must bring his car down pit road to address a repair issue.

Daniel Hemric has also been black flagged to make repairs for a mandatory part of the car.

With 31 laps remaining in the race AJ Allmendinger leads the race; Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Josh Williams round out the top five.

Lap 73, the top 10 drivers have pulled away from the field with AJ Allmendinger leading the way; Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Josh Williams round out the top five.

With 23 laps remaining in the race, there are 22 cars on the lead lap.

AJ Allmendinger continues to lead the race with Ross Chastain in second; Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Josh Williams rounding out the top five.

Teams and drivers are making plans to try and better their positions with 20 laps remaining in the race.

The moves have begun with several drivers passing Josh Williams.  The top five are AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Austin Cindric.

There are 20 cars on the lead lap.

With just 13 laps remaining in the race, AJ Allmendinger leads the race; Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Chase Briscoe, and Austin Cindric round out the top five with just 17 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 89, the top five are AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, and Michael Annett.  Justin Haley got hung out after jumping out of line and fell to sixth place.

Only seven laps remaining in the race, AJ Allmendinger continues to lead the way with Ross Chastain in second and looking to smash a watermelon in victory lane with a win in his home state.

Five to go, AJ Allmendinger holds on to the lead with 16 cars on the lead lap; Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, and Michael Annett round out the top five.

With just two laps remaining in the race, the drivers have begun to make their moves for position.

In trying to pass for the lead, Ross Chastain makes contact with leader AJ Allmendinger, giving the lead over to Justin Haley who goes on to lead the race.  Austin Cindric and Michael Annett hit the wall. Justin Haely sweeps the Super Speedways this season.
