Broadway, the Lincoln Center, The Met, and all other cultural events in New York City has been cancelled until at least the beginning of next year.

And now Madison Square Garden has announced that the annual Christmas Spectacular that features the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes has been cancelled.  This marks the first time since 1933 that the Rockettes will not perform a holiday show in New York City.

MSG Entertainment issued a statement saying, “we regret that the 2020 production of the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, presented by Chase, has been canceled due to continued uncertainty associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition.”

Anyone who has purchased tickets for the event may obtain a refund from the point of purchase.  Tickets for the 2021 Spectacular are currently on sale

The annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular runs throughout the holiday season from early in November to just after the New Year.

So far, there has been no word on the status of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
