Just one day after the firing of “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews; ABC announced that “America’s Next Top Model” creator Tyra Banks would not only be taking over the hosting duties solo; she will also be an executive producer for the show.

Banks spoke on the show via a statement admitted that she is a fan of the format of of “fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances … it’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk.”

Banks added that original host Tom Bergeron set “a powerful stage” and she is looking forward to continuing the legacy.
In releasing Bergeron and Andrews, ABC noted that they are looking to bring a “creative refresh” to the show while maintaining the affection viewers have for the show.

Due to the ongoing issues with the Covid-19 pandemic, it is unsure as the when season 29 of the show will premiere of the series; along with most of the fall television season.
