Only two of the original band members remain,  it British rockers Queen are as popular as ever.

Their “Greatest Hits” album was originally released in 1981.  Since that time the album has spent a total of nearly three years on the UK album chart.

At 901 weeks on the album chart, Queen’s “Greatest Hits” album is only the third in UK album history to reach the 900 week milestone.  “Legend” by Bob Marley and the Wailers at 933 weeks and “Gold” by ABBA at 949 weeks are the other two albums to reach such a status.

Queen saw the album debut in the number two spot on the chart and took the top spot the following week where it stayed for four weeks.

Currently, the album is sitting at number 16.

The album has been certified eight times platinum in the United States for selling eight million copies, it has sold over six million copies in the United Kingdom, and has sold a total some 25 million copies around the world.
