In the second race of the day, the Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series takes to the track on a hot July Texas night for the Vankor 250.

After a random draw based on truck owner points, Sheldon Creed sits on the pole with Grant Enfinger starting alongside on the front row.

Brett Moffitt, Justin Haley, Timmy Hill, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Busch will make their second race start of the day.

Stages one and two of the race are 40 laps each with stage three lasting 87 laps for a total of 167 laps around the mile and a half track.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and goes side by side with Grant Enfinger as the drivers spread out across the track.  Sheldon Creed gets out in front for the lead with Grant Enfinger in second; Kyle Busch, Zane Smith, and Austin Hill round out the top five.

Lap three, Sheldon Creed has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Kyle Busch; Zane Smith, Grant Enfinger, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Lap five, Kyle Busch closes the gap on leader Sheldon Creed to under half a second.

Lap six, Sheldon Creed has a quarter of a second lead on Kyle Busch; Zane Smith, Brett Moffitt, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

Lap eight, Kyle Busch gets around Sheldon Creed for the lead as Zane Smith was coming up to make it a three wide race for the lead.

Sheldon Creed has to make an unscheduled trip down pit road for a flat tire.

Lap 10, Kyle Busch is in the lead with Zane Smith nearly a half second back; Brett Moffitt, Ben Rhodes, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five.

Lap 16, Zane Smith passes Kyle Busch to take the lead from the high side.

Lap 18, Zane Smith holds a narrow lead on Kyle Busch; Ben Rhodes, Brett Moffitt, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five.

Lap 20, there are 28 trucks on the lead lap.

With sunset still over an hour away, the drivers will face some issues as more of the track loses the sun.

Lap 23, Zane Smith continues to lead the race with Kyle Busch just under half a second back; Ben Rhodes, Tyler Ankrum, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five with 24 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 25, Zane Smith has pulled out to a lead of nearly a second on Kyle Busch; third place driver Ben Rhodes is over three seconds behind the leader.

Lap 30, 10 to go in stage one, Zane Smith continues to lead the race with Kyle Busch only a quarter of a second behind; over three seconds back Ben Rhodes, Tyler Ankrum, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Lap 34, Kyle Busch passes Zane Smith to take the lead.

There are 21 trucks on the lead lap.

After a flat tire, Sheldon Creed is two laps down.

After the past two races – Pocono and Kentucky – were filled with cautions early in the race, the drivers have gone caution free with just two laps remaining in stage one.

With a lead of over a second, Kyle Busch wins stage one.

Natalie Decker had a smoking truck on the restart and had to take her truck down pit road.

Lap 55, Kyle Busch has a lead of less than half a second on Christian Eckes; over two seconds back Todd Gilliland, Brett Moffitt, and Zane Smith round out the top five.

Lap 60, Kyle Busch holds on to a half second lead on Christian Eckes; over two and a half seconds back Brett Moffitt, Zane Smith, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

Johnny Sauter brings out the caution flag on lap 61 with smoke coming out of the tailpipe.  Sauter is on pit road with the hood up and heavy smoke.

Some of the drivers from the back of the field come down pit road for service.

Grant Enfinger had to make multiple trips down pit road with mechanical issues.

Kyle Busch brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 69 and gets out in front for the lead with Christian Eckes in second; Brett Moffitt, Ben Rhodes, and Zane Smith round out the top five.

Lap 70 Christian Eckes moves up to challenge boss man Kyle Busch for the lead and gets out in front to take the lead.  The truck that Christian Eckes is driving is the same truck that Kyle Busch took to victory last year.

Lap 73, Christian Eckes ahs a narrow lead on Kyle Busch; Zane Smith, Brett Moffitt, and Ben Rhodes rund out the top five.

Lap 74, Jordan Anderson brings out the caution flag when he spins out for the first on track incident of the night.  Anderson manages to keep the truck off the wall.

Leaders come down pit road; along with several other drivers but several drivers also stayed out on the track.

Taking fuel only, Christian Eckes wins the race off of pit road.

Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag restart with just two laps remaining in stage two.  The drivers get three wide on the restart with Brett Moffitt getting out in front for the lead with Matt Crafton in second; Tyler Ankrum, Ben Rhodes, and Tate Fogleman round out the top five.

Matt Crafton’s team reports that the alternator is not working and they may have to replace the battery for a second time.

Austin Hill had an extended pit stop when the crew had to get under the hood for an adjustment.

Brennan Poole has an on track issue and gets into the wall.  He brings his truck down pit road and the track stays green.

Lap 95, boss man Kyle Busch is on leader Christian Eckes’ bumper and challenging for the lead.

Lap 96, Zane Smith is making it a three way battle.

Lap 98, there are 31 trucks still on the track.

Lap 100, Christian Eckes is in the lead with Kyle Busch right behind him; Zane Smith, Justin Haley, and Brett moffitt round out the top five.

Lap 102, With Christian Eckes in the lead; Zane Smith gets around Kyle Busch to take second.

After getting loose on the track, Kyle Busch takes second from Zane Smith.

Lap 106, Christian Eckes has a third of  a second lead on Kyle Busch; Zane Smith is in third over a second back; Justin Haley and Brett Moffitt round out the top five over five second back with 20 trucks on the lead lap.  There are four trucks out of the race.

Austin Hill brings his truck down pit road and heads for the garage with his smoking truck.

Lap 112, Christian Eckes has a tenth of a second lead on Kyle Busch with Zane Smith in third; Brett Moffitt and Justin Haley round out the top five.  The drivers must still make a pit stop before the end of the race.

Lap 116, Christian Eckes has pulled out to a lead of a quarter of a second on Kyle Busch; Zane Smith, Brett Moffitt, and Justin Haley round out the top five.  There are 17 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 121, Christian Eckes continues to hold a narrow lead on Kyle Busch with Zane Smith, Brett Moffitt, and Justin Haley rounding out the top five with only 15 trucks on the lead lap.

With 44 laps remaining in the race, Christian Eckes has a lead of over half a second on Kyle Busch.

Zane Smith is the first driver to come down pit road for a flat tire and begins the cycle of green flag pit stops.

Lap 135, Kyle Busch leads the race with Christian Eckes nearly three seconds back.

With 32 laps remaining in the race, Zane Smith slaps the wall and has to bring his truck down pit road with a flat tire. The track stays green.

With 31 laps to go, Kyle Busch has pulled out to a lead of three seconds on Christian Eckes.

Lap 137, Kyle Busch has a lead of nearly three seconds on Christian Eckes; Ben Rhodes, Brett Moffitt, and Todd Gilliland round out the top five.

Lap 140, Kyle Busch has increased his lead to nearly three and a half seconds on 19 year old Christian Eckes.

With just 23 laps remaining in the race, Kyle Busch has a lead of over four seconds on Christian Eckes; Brett Moffitt, Matt Crafton, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five with just nine trucks on the lead lap.

Twenty to go, Kyle Busch has a four and a half second lead on Christian Eckes; over 12 seconds back, Brett Moffitt, Matt Crafton, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

Seventeen to go, Christian Eckes has closed the gap on leader Kyle Busch to just under four seconds.

The caution flag comes out with just 15 laps remaining in the race when Todd Gilliland gets into the wall.
