NASCAR drivers have long been known for joining forces with sponsors  and causes to raise money and awareness.

This weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Chase Elliott and his fellow Hendrick Motorsports team mates will be sporting some special shoes to highlight the Chase Elliott Foundation and the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The “Desi9n to Drive” initiative is looking to raise money for the Children’s Hospital summer camp program.

The shoes have been designed by some of the patients from the hospital.

After the race, the shoes will be autographed by the driver who wore them and put up for auction.  The auction is set to run between June 5 and 14.

This is the fourth year that Elliott’s Foundation has raised money for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  In the previous three years, Elliott has raised over $100,000.

Along with the funds raised from the auction, the Chase Elliott Foundation will match the money raised and make a donation toward Covid-19 relief.
