Saturday Night Thunder comes to Friday night for the final iRacing event of the season as the drivers prepare to take to the track again beginning May 17 with the first NASCAR race in two months.

But first it’s 125 laps around the virtual half mile paperclip shaped track at Martinsville.

Unlike the Pro Invititational Series, Saturday Night Thunder has had a different leader in each race.

The night begins with four heat races as the teams vie for one of 30 spots on the starting grid for the main event.

This week marks the first time that the drivers will race under the lights at virtual Martinsville.

After single car qualifying Ty Majeski wins the pole.

The top six drivers from the 10 lap heat races move on to the main event.  This week there is only one Last Chance Qualifier for a 15 lap race to place the final six drivers.  With 41 drivers coming to the track, eleven will go home.

Each heat is only 10 laps in length and there are no caution flags in the heat races.

Ty Majeski brings the first group of drivers down for the green flag start of the race with Ty Majeski taking the lead and pulling away from the field.
