As the song says, “another one bites the dust.”

The XFL had to suspend the remainder of its spring football season after orders for the end of large crowds in an effort to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Had the season continued, the XFL would be preparing for the playoffs and an end to the season; instead, they have suspended all operations; laying off employees.

When the XFL – which is owned by the WWE – canceled the remainder of the 2020 season, they promised to return for 2021; however, the future of the XFL may be in question. Employees were notified via a conference call on April 10 and will receive compensation through Easter Sunday – April 12.

The fledgling league with eight teams had played half of its 10 game schedule when the remainder of the season was shut down.
