Daytime drama actor John Callahan died in the early hours of March 28 at the age of 66 after suffering a massive stroke at his Palm Desert home the day before.

He is best known for his role as Edmund Grey on “All My Children”; a role he played from 1992 until 2005.

After making his screen debut in 1982 as a reporter on “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, Callahan appeared in nearly three dozen productions including “The Mississippi”, “Three’s Company”, “Fantasy Island”, “General Hospital”, “Hotel”, “Falcon Crest”, “Murder, he Wrote”, as Craig Hunt in nearly 300 episodes of “Santa Barbara”, “Spin City”, over 350 episodes of “All My Children”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Watch Over Me”, “Cold Case”, three different roles in over 100 episodes of “Days of Our Lives”, “The Bay”, “eCupid”, as host of “miss America” with his wife, and a variety of reality and game shows.

John Kevin Callahan was born on December 23, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York but grew up on Long Island.

Survivors include his two ex-wives and daughter Kaya McKenna.
