The Covid-19 virus and the subsequent bans and closures have shuttered all theatrical and Broadway productions for the foreseeable future.

The Metropolitan Opera has cancelled the entire season and has furloughed all of it artists and musicians.

However, The Met has begun streaming past performances. This week features 29 and a half hours of Wagner.

Performances begin at 7:30pm and will be available for 24 hours. Opera fans may watch the performances on The Met homepage at

March 24 – “Das Rheingold”
March 25 – “Die Walkure”
March 26 – “Siegfried”
March 27 – “Gotterdammerung”
March 28 – “Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg”
March 29 – “Tannhauser”

Next week’s schedule includes “Dialogues des Cermelites”, “Il Barbiere did Siviglia”, “Nixon in Chine”, “Don Carlo”, “Les Pecheurs de Perles”, “Macbeth”, and “Norma”.
