While no one wanted to see a break in the young NASCAR season, it came at a most opportune time for Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series driver Brett Moffitt.

While riding his motocross bike over the weekend, Moffitt had an accident that resulted in his fracturing bones in both of his legs. Moffitt has had surgery and is now recovering from his injuries.

Truck owner GMS Racing said that Moffitt is in “very good spirits”. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready to race again in six to eight weeks.

The 2018 Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series champion is an eleven time Truck Series winner. The 2015 NASCAR Cup Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year has also made four Xfinity Series starts this season and currently ranks fourth in Truck Series points.
