On March 11, NASCAR released a statement saying that while the upcoming races would continue as scheduled, they were making some changes in track policies.
However, on March 12, NASCAR has amended their statement saying, “at this time, NASCAR will hold its race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway without fans in attendance. These events will be restricted to competitors, crews, officials and other necessary personnel to conduct the race. We will work with public health officials as we determine future scheduling beyond these events.”
Officials at Atlanta Motor Speedway said that fans who have purchased tickets for the event will receive full credit for any tickets purchased including grandstand seating, infield, camping, fan hospitality, and pit passes.
NASCAR runs only one race each season at Atlanta Motor Speedway; but the credit obtained from the race can be used at any NASCAR sanctioned event for the remainder of the 2020 or 2021 racing seasons at any Speedway Motorsports owned track. Information on obtaining credit for ticket purchases will be available on nascar.com in the next 48 hours.
