Rap artist Pop Smoke died February 19, 2020 after a break-in to his Hollywood home where he was fatally shot. He was 20 years old.

Police say that they are just beginning the investigation into the incident.

Bashar Barakah Jackson was born in Brooklyn, New York, Pop Smoke had a hit with “Welcome to the Party” in 2018. The song – a gangsta anthem – saw the rapper bragging about drugs, shootings, and killing.

The freestyle rapper had just released his second album “Meet the Woo 2”. The album debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 album chart at number seven. The album was a follow-up to the debut album last July “Meet the Woo”.

The rap music world has had its share of tragedy over the past couple of years with the shooting deaths of Nipsey Hussle, Bankroll Gambino, and XXXTentacion.
