British born metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne has had a rough go of it over the past year with a variety of medical issues.
On the ABC morning news program “Good Morning America”, Osbourne and his wife Sharon shared that Ozzy’s latest medical issue is a bout with Parkinson’s Disease.
The 71 year old rocker said that the disease, a neurological disorder that affects muscular movement, was discovered after a fall last year.
Noting that there are a number of versions of the disease, Sharon said that Ozzy has the PRKN 2 adding, it’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s — it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”
While there is no cure for the disease, The Prince of Darkness said that he is taking medication for the condition but is also seeking help from medical professionals outside of the U.S.
At one point Ozzy denied any health issues, but has since come clean saying, “I’m no good with secrets. I cannot walk around with it anymore ’cause it’s like I’m running out of excuses, you know?”
This is not the first time that the Osbourne family has had to deal with a major health issue, son Jack was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012.
Other notable celebrities who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease are actor Michael J. Fox and champion boxer Mohammad Ali.
