The southern rock band Scooter Brown Band has lost its keyboard player Carrigan “Chet” Shields.

Shields died December 30, he was just 30 years old at the time of his death. No official cause of death has been given.

He gave his final performance with the Scooter Brown Band at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on December 28.

Shields last song was “American Son”.

Born October 22, 1989 in Pocatello, Idaho, he grew up in a musical family and began his musical journey very young. A multi instrumentalist, Shields was more comfortable behind the keyboard.

Predeceased by his father Clint, Carrigan is survived by his mother Brenda; siblings Chad, Crystal, and Chasta; and Scooter Brown Band band mates.
