The Recording Academy has announced that they will be honouring six time Grammy Award winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and co-founder of the group N.W.A. Dr. Dre for his pioneering work in music production.

Along with producing music for N.W.A., Dre has worked with Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Eve, Jay-Z, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, the Game, Anderson .Paak, Michel’le and Mary J. Blige; as well as, producing his own music.

The ceremony will take place at the Village Studios on January 22, four days before the annual Grammy Awards.
