While there is talk about where Erik Jones will go next season, the silly season begins in earnest after Monster Energy Cup Series driver David Ragan announced that he will be exiting the number 38 Front Row Motorsports car at the end of the 2019 racing season.

Ragan is not retiring from racing, only racing full time. The 33 year old driver has said that he will continue to race on a part time basis in NASCAR and other racing series. Ragan has been a full time Monster Cup driver for 13 years.

Speaking on his decision Ragan said, “I am a husband and a father to two young girls first, and I am a driver second. To compete in what I consider the greatest series in the world, you need full dedication of your time and focus. My children are growing up quickly, and I want to concentrate my time in being the best father and husband I can be.”

Front Row Motorsports has said that they will announce Ragan’s replacement at a later date.

Ragan has two Monster Cup wins and they are at the two biggest tracks on the circuit – Talladega and Daytona.
