The Gander Outdoors Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend of night racing at Kentucky Speedway with the Buckle Up Your Truck 225.

Thirty-four teams brought trucks to the track to fill 32 spots.

After having his truck confiscated, Stewart Friesen had to move to a backup truck and will start the race from the back of the field.

With a qualifying run of 29.68 seconds Grant Enfinger puts his truck on the pole and will lead the field to the green flag. Sheldon Creed will start alongside Enfinger on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race will be 35 laps each with stage three lasting 80 laps for a total of 150 laps around the mile and a half track.

At 70 feet wide, there is plenty of room for the drivers to get spread out across the track.

Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Sheldon Creed getting out in front for the lead as the drivers get three wide on the first turn.

Lap two, Sheldon Creed has already pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Grant Enfinger.

After starting the race in 27th place, Brandon Jones needed less than five laps to move up to 16th place. Stewart Friesen has advanced 10 spots after starting the race in the last position.

Lap seven, Sheldon Creed has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Grant Enfinger.

Lap 15, reigning ARCA champ Sheldon Creed now has a lead of over two seconds on Grant Enfinger.

Lap 17, Grant Enfinger has closed the gap on leader Sheldon Creed to under a second.

Lap 26, Sheldon Creed has increased his lead on Grant Enfinger to a second and a half.

Austin Hill brings his truck down pit road for an unscheduled pit stop with reports of power issues.

Lap 30, Sheldon Creed’s lead is back to over two seconds on Grant Enfinger.

Brandon Jones is now in the top 10 with two laps remaining in the stage.

Taking only two tires, Grant Enfinger wins the race off of pit road. Sheldon Creed, Todd Gilliland, Brandon Jones, Tyler Ankrum. Brett Moffitt, Harrison Burton, Brennan Poole, Johnny Sauter, and Austin Wayne Self also took only two tires.

Johnny Sauter and Matt Crafton were both penalized for commitment cone violations coming on to pit road.

Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Sheldon Creed alongside on the front row. Lap 40, Grant Enfinger gets out in front for the lead with the drivers getting four wide across the track on the restart.

The caution flag comes out for a crash involving Natalie Decker, Spencer Boyd, and Jordan Anderson. Boyd’s truck is totaled but Spencer gets out of the truck safely. Johnny Sauter also sustained a wee bit of damage as a result of the crash but will be able to continue the race.

After starting the race in 27th, Brandon Jones has moved up to the second spot.

Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 51 and goes nose to nose with Brandon Jones before edging out in front for the lead.

Chad Finley brings out the caution flag on lap 55 when he spins out in a single truck incident.

A few drivers bring their trucks down pit road for service including Sheldon Creed.

Todd Gilliland and Ben Rhodes are on pit road…with their hoods up. Todd Gilliland is reporting some sort of an engine issue – possibly down a cylinder.

Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag restart with just eleven laps remaining in stage two. Grant Enfinger gets out in front as trucks crash behind him.

Harrison Burton, Gus Dean, Johnny Sauter, and Josh Bilicki were all involved in the crash.

During the crash, Brandon Jones gets out in front for the lead.

Brandon Jones brings the field down for the green flag restart with just six laps remaining in stage two. With a push from Matt Crafton, Brandon Jones jumps out in front for the lead.

Grant Enfinger and Brandon Jones get into the wall after Enfinger gets loose and taking out both the first and second place trucks. Brandon Jones had flames coming out from under his truck.

Matt Crafton is the new leader after getting a penalty that sent him to the back of the field.

Tyler Ankrum brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three with Brennan Poole also on the front row with Poole taking the lead first before Tyler Ankrum gets out in front as the drivers get aggressive.

Lap 83, 18 year old Tyler Ankrum has a lead of just under half a second on Ben Rhodes.

Sheldon Creed is on the track with a flat tire that is smoking. Creed gets down pit road.

All of the drivers must make one more pit stop, they cannot complete the stage without making a stop for fuel.

Lap 97, Tyler Ankrum has a near half second lead on Ben Rhodes. Leading the race for 27 laps, this is the most laps that Ankrum has led in his racing career.

Lap 104, Tyler Ankrum has a lead of over a second as Ben Rhodes and Brett Moffitt battle for the second place spot.

Tyler Ankrum is running away from the fied with a lead of over two seconds on now second place driver Brett Moffitt.

With only 12 laps remaining in the race, Brett Moffitt has a lead of over eleven seconds on Tyler Ankrum with only eight trucks on the lead lap.

Nine to go, With Brett Moffitt backing it down, Tyler Ankrum is less than eight seconds back.

Five to go, Brett Moffitt has a lead of less than six seconds on Tyler Ankrum.

Three to go, Matt Crafton is out of fuel. Todd Gilliland is also out of fuel.

Two to go, Brett Moffitt is still in the lead but has just run out of fuel giving the lead over to Tyelr Ankrum with Stewart Friesen in second over six seconds back.

After turning 18 in March, Tyler Ankrum has led the most laps and wins his first race in the Truck Series. This was Ankrum’s twelfth Truck Series start.

The California teen called the race win a dream come true.
