This summer at The Strong Museum in Rochester, New York young bookworms can do more than read about their favourite storybook characters with Storybook Summer.

Beginning July 8 and running through the end of August, The Strong is featuring story readings at 1pm and 2pm each weekday; along with themed activities each week and photo opportunities with characters right out of the story book.

Storybook Summer schedule:

July 8-12 – “How Do Dinosaurs with the dinosaur from the book and activities including making a dinosaur headband and feet.

July 15-19 – Cookie Mouse with “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and building a mouse house.

July 22-26 – “Pete the Cat” with the Cool Cat Boogie and Pete the cat himself.

July 29 – Aug 2 – “Skippyjon Jones” with a musical fiesta and cat masks.

Aug 5-9 – “Fly Guy” with Fly Guy and his fun zone.

Aug 12-16 – “Biscuit” with Biscuit himself on hand to pose for photos and designing a puppy to adopt.

Aug 19-23 – Wild Things with “Where the Wild Things Are” and a romp through the jungle.

Aug 26-30 – and finish out the summer with the “Berenstain Bears” with a meet and greet with one of the bears and a search for honey.

Admission to The Strong is free to members and children under the age of two, all others is $16.

The Strong is open from 10am to 5pm Monday through Thursday, 10am to 8pm Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5pm on Sunday.
