Multi-faceted entertainer and award winning performer Barbra Streisand would much rather remain behind the scenes than appear on the stage. But on occasion she garners the strength to fight her stage fright and perform live.
Such is the case when Streisand returns to the stage at Madison Square Garden after a 13 year absence from the iconic venue on Aug 3.
Tickets for the one night only performance go on sale at 9am EDT June 17.
Speaking on the return, Streisand said, “there are no fans like New York fans! and I can’t wait to return to Madison Square Garden to perform some new songs, some old songs and anything I find in between.”
She has gone beyond the coveted EGOT – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony – Award wins to be the only person who also has won awards from the Directors Guild of America, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts, Peabody Awards, France’s Legion d’Honneur, the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Kennedy Center Honors, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
With 52 gold albums – 31 of which have gone on to earn platinum status and 13 of those went multi platinum – Streisand is the only artist to have a number one albums for six consecutive decades!
