The 2019 Billboard Music Awards opened its annual gala with a world premiere live debut performance by Taylor Swift of her new single “Me”.

Original “American Idol” winner and two time “The Voice” winning coach Kelly Clarkson is the host for this year’s big night of music in Las Vegas and the MGM Grand Garden.

Kelly performs a medley of songs including the Florida Georgia Line his “Meant to Be”, “Girls Like You’, “The Middle”, “Where Love Lies”, and “Tequila” before being escorted off by “security”.

The first award of the night is for the Top R&B Artist and went to Ella Mai.

Halsey performs her hit song “Without Me”.

The boys of Florida Georgia Line present the award for Top Rock Artist to Imagine Dragons.

Mrs. Russell Wilson…better known as Ciera performs and thanks to wireless technology, goes out into the audience for part of the performance.

The award for Top Billboard 200 Album went to Drake for “Scorpion”.

Country music artists Dan + Shay take the stage with Tori Kelly for a performance of “Speechless”.

The award for Top New Artist went to Juice Wrld.

Kevin, Joe, and Nick return as The Jonas Brothers for a performance from their solo careers that included “Jealous”, “Cake by the Ocean”, and “Sucker for You”.

The award for Top Duo or Group went to the Korean pop sensation BTS.

The 2018 Billboard Music Award Best New Artist and “The Voice” mentor Khalid performs.

The award for Top Male Artist went to Drake. Noting the recent losses of artists, Drake told the crowd to let the artists know how you feel about them.

Ariana Grande performs her hit “Seven Rings”.

Madonna pairs up with Latin artist Maluma for a performance.

Christian artist Lauren Daigle performs her hit “You Say”.

The award for Top Rap Song went to Cardi B. for “I Like It”.

Award winning entertainer Jennifer Hudson presented Mariah Carey with the Billboard Icon Award. Carey performed a medley of her songs.

The award for Top Country Song went to Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line for “Meant to Be”.

Panic! At the Disco perform their latest hit “Hey, Look Mom, I Made It”.

Kelly Clarkson performs her new single “Broken and Beautiful” from the movie “Broken Dolls”.

The award for Top Rock Song went to Panic! At the Disco for “High Hopes”.

Halsey returns to the stage for a world debut premiere with the K-Pop sensation BTS.

The award for Top Hot 100 Song went to Maroon 5 with Cardi B for “Girls Like You”.

Host Kelly Clarkson presented the biggest award of the night of Top Artist to Drake.

Closing out the night of music, Paula Abdul celebrates her self titled album and its, at the time, record breaking four hits singles with the Billboard throwback performance including her cartoon partner on “Opposites Attract”.
