With only three more races remaining in the 2018 NASCAR racing season, the Camping World Truck Series kicks off a the first of three triple header weekends with the JAG Metals 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.

In the first round of qualifying, eight drivers broke the track record. Thirty four teams brought trucks to the track.

Ben Rhodes hit the wall during qualifying and will have to start the race from the back of the field after the team made repairs to his truck.

After two rounds of qualifying, with a record setting time of 28.608 seconds around the mile and a half track, Johnny Sauter wins the pole for the race. This was Sauter’s seventh career pole, his first in over two years.

The qualifying speed of 188.7 miles per hour is the fastest qualifying time on record in the Camping World Truck Series.

Stages one and two of the race are 35 laps each with stage three lasting 77 laps for a total of 147 around the mile and a half track.

Lap two, the top five are Johnny Sauter, Stewart Friesen, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley, and David Gilliland.

Lap three Stewart Friesen passes Johnny Sauter to take over the lead of the race.

Lap three the first caution flag comes out when Bo LeMastus got loose and hit the wall causing significant damage to his truck.

Stewart Friesen brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap seven and goes nose to nose with Noah Gragson before Justin Haley makes it a three wide battle with Noah Gragson taking the lead.

The top five are Noah Gragson, Justin Haley, Stewart Friesen, David Gillialnd, and Sheldon Creed.

Lap nine, Justin Haley passes Noah Gragson for the lead with David Gilliland in third.

Lap 10 the top five are Justin Haley, Noah Gragson, David Gillialnd, Sheldon Creed, and Stewart Friesen.

Jennifer Jo Cobb, Timmy Hlll, and Bo LeMastus are all off the track.

Lap 12 the top fiveare Justin Haley, David Gilliland, Noah Gragson, Sheldon Creed, and Stewart Friesen.

David Gilliland brings out the second caution flag on lap 15 after hitting the wall with some sort of issue with his truck. He takes the truck to the garage.

Justin Haley brings the field down for the green flag restart of the race on lap 19 and jumps out in front of Noah Gragson for the lead.

The top five are Justin Haley, Noah Gragson, Sheldon Creed, Stewart Friesen, and Matt Crafton.

Lap 20, Sheldon Creed gets around Noah Gragson to take second place half a second behind leader Justin Haley.

Cody Rohrbaugh brings out the third caution flag of the race on lap 21 when he gets loose and spins out.

Justin Haley brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 34 and goes side by side with Sheldon Creed with Justin Haley finally getting out in front for the lead.

Lap 25, the top five are Justin Haley, Sheldon Creed, Stewart Friesen, Matt Crafton, and Noah Gragson.

Lap 26, Sheldon Creed in only his fourth truck race passes Justin Haley for the lead of the race.

Lap 28, Justin Haley gets around Sheldon Creed for the lead.

With five laps remaining in stage one, Justin Haley leads the race with Sheldon Creed in second and Stewart Friesen in third; Matt Crafton and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Codie Rohrbaugh spins out on lap 31 and brings out the fourth caution flag of the race.

Jordon Anderson is on pit road with the hood up.

NASCAR has elected not to open pit road. The stage ends on a caution.

After taking only fuel, Ross Chastain wins the race off of pit road. Several drivers took only two tires.

Johnny Sauter is back on pit road for repairs to the splitter.

Myatt Snider brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 41 and gets out in front for the lead after staying out on the track.

Cory Roper gets sideways and brings out the caution flag on lap 42; Johnnyh Sauter, Noah Gragson, and Tyler Young were also involved in the wreck.

The top five are Myatt Snider, Jesse Little, Harrison Burton, Grant Enfinger, and Austin Hill.

Myatt Snider brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 50 and holds on to the lead as drivers get three wide through the field looking for position.

Lap 51, the top five are Myatt Snider, Harrison Burton, Austin Hill, Justin Haley, and Jesse Little.

Lap 53, Myatt Snider holds on to the lead with Harrison Burton in second; Justin Haley, Austin Hill, and Grant Enfinge round out the top five.

Lap 55, Harrison Burton challenges Matt Snider for the lead with Snider holding on to the top spit.

Lap 57, the top five are Myatt Snider, Harrison Burton, Justin Haley Austin Hill, and Grant Enfinger.

Lap 60, Myatt Snider continues to lead the race with Justin Haley in second; Austin Hill, Grant Enfinger, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 61 when Sheldon Creed got loose and hit the wall.

The top five are Myatt Snider, Justin Haley, Austin Hill, Grant Enfinger and Grant Enfinger.

Justin Haley and Austin Haley are battling for the second spot.

Lap 65, Myatt Snider has a lead of over half a second on Austin Hill with Justin Haley in third, Grant finger and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 66 for debris on the track as Sheldon Creed’s repair work failed.

Stage two also ends under caution with Myatt Snider winning the stage for his first stage win.

Taking fuel only, Ben Rhodes and Joe Nemechek lead the race off of it road. Finally making his first it stop for tires, Myatt Snider is the first truck to take four tires.

Lap 134, Justin Haley has closed the gap to leader Todd Gilliland to under three and a half seconds; Grant Enfinger, Ben Rhodes, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.
