This week the Xfinity Series travels to Wisconsin and Road America’s four mile 14 turn course for some road racing with the Johnsonville 180.

Among the drivers in the field is NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott.

After two rounds of qualifying Matt Tifft won the pole and will bring the field to the green

With a four mile course, the race is only 45 laps long with stages one and two lasting only 10 laps each and stage three lasting 25 laps for a total of 182 miles in the race.

Matt Tifft brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and gets out in front to lead the race.

The top five are Matt Tifft, James Davison, Christopher Bell, Cole Custer, and Brendan Gaughan.

Lap two, Matt Tifft leads the race with Jame Davison, Cole Custer, Christopher Bell, and Brendan Gaughan rounding out the top five. Bill Elliott is in 22nd place.

Lap three, Matt Tift holds on to his narrow lead over Australian James Davison with Cole Custer in third.

The caution flag comes out when Carl Long is stopped on the track. James French also got off the track in the gravel but managed to get back on the track.

After starting from the back of the field, Austin Cindric has moved up to 20th place.

A few of the drivers come down pit road for service during the caution flag.

Matt Tifft brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap seven with Cole Custer and Christopher Bell battling for the spot but Matt Tifft holds on to the lead.

Ryan Reed gets off the track and hits the barrier, but the track stays green.

The top five are Matt Tifft, Cole Custer, James Davison, Christopher Bell, and Brendan Gaughan.

The caution flag comes out for Ryan Reed because he could not get the car going again. James Davison comes down pit road, just beating closure of the pits.

Matt Tifft brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap nine and edges out Cole Custer and Christopher Bell for the lead. Brandon Jones gets into the barrier but gets back on the track and it stays green.

Matt Tifft wins his first stage of the 218 season.

Taking only fuel, Jeremy Clements wins the race off of pit road, but several drivers did not make a pit stop.

Brendan Gaughan brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two but it is Austin Cindric who gets out in front for the lead.

Lap 13 Austin Cindric is in the lead with Brendan Gaughan in second; neither driver has yet to make a pit stop.

Lap 14 Austin Cindric has pulled out to a one second lead on Daniel Hemric with Brendan Gaughan in third.

Lap 14 the top five are Austin Cindric, Daniel Hemric, Brendan Gaughan, James Davison, and Elliott Sadler.

Lap 15, Daniel Hemric has closed the gap on leader Austin Cindric to less than half a second.

Lap 15, Daniel Hemric passes Austin Cindric for the lead as Cindric gets slowed down and stopped on the track and brings out the caution flag.

The top five are Daniel Hemric, James Davison, Elliott Sadler, Matt Tifft, and Justin Marks.

Some drivers bring their cars down pit road for service.

Talking to NBC Sports pit reporters, Austin Cindric reports that his car, “just blew up.”

Daniel Hemric brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 18 and jumps out in front for the lead.

The top five are Daniel Hemric, James Davison, Matt Tifft, Elliott Sadler, and Christopher Bell.

Daniel Hemric has a lead of nearly half a second on James Davis with Elliott Sadler in third. Second place driver James Davis comes down pit road.

Lap 19 the top five are Daniel Hemric, Matt Tifft, Elliott Sadler, Christopher Bell, and Justin Marks.

Daniel Hemric has pulled out to a lead of nearly a second on Matt Tifft.

Daniel Hemric’s lead over Matt Tifft is now nearly a second and a half.

Daniel Hemric wins stage two for his third stage win of the season.

Matt Tifft wins the race off of pit road, but there are cars out on the track who did not make a pit stop.

Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 22 and gets a challenge from Brendan Gaughan for the lead with Gaughan passing Allgaier to take the lead.

The top five are Brendan Gaughan, Justin Allgaier, Katherine Legge, Alex Labbe, and Tyler Reddick.

Lap 23, Brendan Gaughan has a lead of less than half a second over Justin Allgaier with Katherine Legge in third.

Lap 24, Katherine Legge gets turned around but gets it straightened out and the track stays green.

Brendan Gaughan leads the race with Justin Allgaier nearly a second behind; James Davison, Matt Tifft, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Lap 26, Brendan Gaughan has a lead of a second on James Davison with Justin Allgaier in third.

Lap 27 Brendan Gaughan has pulled out to a second and a half lead on James Davison. Christopher Bell and Justin Allgaier get off the track after making contact but return and the track stays green.

Justin Allgaier makes his pit stop and can now make it to the end of the race.

Josh Bilicki makes an off road excursion but returns and the track stays green.

Lap 29 the caution flag comes out when Ryan Truex spun out due to possible fluid on the track. Reports are that Tyler Reddick has an issue with his car and was leaking fluid on the track.

NASCAR is a family sport with sons following fathers on the track. For many years Bill Elliott has served as the spotter for son Chase. After driving the number 23 car for a few races in the Xfinity Series this season, Chase got his father Bill a ride in the car and is serving as one of the spotters for his dad today.

Justin Allgaier has passed Ryan Sieg to take the lead of the race.

After getting into the gravel, Ryan Sieg gets back on the track.

Lap 32, Justin Allgaier is in the lead with James Davison over a second behind; Matt Tifft is in third.

Lap 32 the top five are Justin Allgaier, James Davison, Matt Tifft, Brendan Gaughan, and Christopher Bell.

Lap 33, Justin Allgaier holds on to the lead with James Davison over a half a second behind with Matt Tifft in third.

Lap 35, Justin Allgaier bobbles and James Davison catches up to Allgaier’s bumper but Allgaier holds on to the lead.

The caution flag comes out on lap 37 when Josh Bilicki gets off the track and hits the tire barrier. Bilicki got out of his car unaided and unharmed but the car will have to be towed away.

Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 38 but it is James Davison who gets out in front for the lead after getting a little push from behind.

Bill Elliott gets off the track but returns and the track stays green.

Justin Allgaier challenges lead James Davison for the lead. Allgaier retakes the lead when Davison bobbles.

Lap 39, Justin Allgaier holds on to the lead with James Davison a second behind.

Five laps remaining in the race, Justin Allgaier has a lead of nearly a second and a half on James Davison with Matt Tifft in third as drivers beat and bang for position.

Christopher Bell gets turned around and off the track but returns and the track stays green.

Lap 41, Justin Allgaier holds on to his one second lead on James Davison.

Christopher Bell makes an unscheduled stop on pit road.

Lap 42, Justin Allgaier continues to lead the race with a lead of a second and a half on James Davison.

Brendan Gaughan makes an off road excursion but the tracks stays green as he gets back on the track.

Justin Marks and James Davison battle for second place. The drivers makes contact and spin out but the track stays green.

Justin Allgaier is in the lead with Matt Tifft over six seconds behind with Cole Custer in third.

Lap 43, Justin Allgaier’s lead is nearly seven seconds over Matt Tifft.

Ryan Truex makes another trip off track but returns and the track stays green.

Justin Allgaier takes the white flag.

With a lead of over six seconds on Matt Tifft, Justin Allgaier wins Road America for his fourth win of the season. The win puts Allgaier only five points behind points leader Christopher Bell.

Allgaier’s win marks the ninth different winner at Road America since the Xfinity Series has been running there.
