The Xfinity Series returns to Daytona International Speedway and some night racing for the Firecracker 250.

After a delay due to an afternoon rain shower, the Xfinity Series qualifying was cancelled and the field was set according to car owner points. Ryan Preece will bring the field to the green flag.

Stages one and two of the race are only 30 laps each with stage three lasting 40 laps for a total of 100 laps around the two and a half mile track. Each of the three stages are fewer laps than a fuel load.

Ryan Preece brings the field down for the green flag but it is Cole Custer who leads the first lap as drivers get three wide across the track. This is the first time that Cole Custer has ever led a lap at Daytona.

Lap two Cole Custer leads the race with Ryan Preece in second; Elliott Sadler, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson rounding out the top five.

Lap four Cole Custer holds on to the lead with points leader Elliott Sadler right behind him, Ryan Preece, Christopher Bell, and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

Lap six Cole Custer leads with Elliot Sadler, Kyle Larson, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Preece rounding out the top five.

Lap eleven, Kyle Larson passes Cole Custer to take over the lead of the race; Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

Lap 14 Kyle Larson leads the race, Ryan Reed has moved up to 12th place after starting the race at the back of the field.

Lap 15 Kyle Larson is in the lead with Chase Elliott and Elliott Sadler right behind.

Lap 16 the top five are Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Blaney.

Lap 22 Kyle Larson continues to lead the race with Chase Elliott in second; Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

Lap 25 Kyle Larson holds on to the lead of the race; Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

Lap 26 there are 36 cars on the lead lap with all 40 cars on the track.

Lap 27 Kyle Larson has a tenth of a second lead on Chase Elliott; Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

The first nine cars have pulled away from the rest of the field and have a lead of over two seconds on the rest of the field.

Ryan Blaney wins the race of of pit road after taking only fuel, Kyle Larson came out second with two tires.

Michael Annett was charged with pitting out of order.

Christopher Bell’s team had a crew member come over the pit wall too soon.

Ryan Sieg’s team was charged with an uncontrolled tire.

Caesar Bacarella was charged with pitting outside of his pit box.

Ryan Blaney brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two and gets out in front of Kyle Larson for the lead.

Lap 35 Ryan Blaney is in the lead with Austin Cindric in second; Kyle Larson, Cole Custer, and Matt Tifft round out the top five. The top 10 drivers are separated by less than half a second.

The drivers are three wide across the track.

Lap 38 Ryan Blaney leads the race with Austin Cindric in second. Kyle Larson has jumped out and is looking to move up in position.

Lap 40 Ryan Blaney leads; Austin Cindric, Daniel Hemrick, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap 44, Ryan Blaney holds on to the lead with Austin Cindric in second; Daniel, Hemric, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap 47, Ryan Blaney leads the race; Austin Cindric, Daniel Hemric, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Ryan Preece makes an unscheduled trip down pit road and takes his car to the garage with engine issues.

Chase Elliot has moved up to second place and is challenging Ryan Blaney for the lead of the race on lap 55. NBC broadcaster Jeff Burton reports seeing bolt of lightening in the distance.

Ryan Blaney takes only two tires and wins the race off of pit road.

Lap 71, Ryan Blaney holds on to the lead of the race; Elliott Sadler, Austin Cindric, Chase Elliott, and Ryan Reed round out the top five.

The first caution flag of the race comes out for an on track incident on lap 73 when Ryan Reed spins out and hitting the wall after getting tapped from behind by Matt Tifft in a close quarters racing incident. Caesar Bacarella and Blake Jones also make contact.

Ryan Blaney brings the field down for the green flag restart with only 23 laps remaining in the race. Ryan Blaney jumps out in front to take the lead.

Elliott Sadler challenges leader Ryan Blaney for the lead but Elliott Sadler gets a little help from Chase Elliott to take the lead.

Lap 79, Elliott Sadler leads the race; Ryan Blaney is in second with Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, and Austin Cindric rounding out the top five.

Lap 80 Ryan Blaney challenges Elliott Sadler for the lead with the two drivers swapping back and forth.

The caution flag comes out for “The big one” on lap 81. Austin Cindric got sideways in the tri-oval and barrel rolls down the track after making contact with Tyler Reddick’s car. Joey Gase, Tyler Reddick, Carrett Smithley, Shane Lee, Ross Chastain, Ryan Truex, BJ McLeod, Ryan Reed, Daniel Hemric, Alex Labbe, Ryan Sieg, Chad Finchum, Jeremy Clements, David Starr, Timmy Hill, Ray Black Jr, and Matt Tifft were also involved in the crash. Cindric got out of the car and walked to the ambulance on his own.

NASCAR displays the red flag with Elliott Sadler listed as the leader of the race.

The cars are back on the track once the red flag has been pulled with only 18 laps remaining in the race.

Brandon Hightower spins out and brings out the fifth caution flag of the race.

Chase Elliott brings his car down pit road reporting power steering issues and that it is very hot in his car. The team takes the car to the garage.

Garrett Smithely spins out but the track stays green. Elliott Sadler leads the race with Christopher Bell in second and Kyle Larson in third; Shane Lee and Ryan Blaney round out the top five.

Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson join Elliott Sadler to make it three wide with Kyle Larson taking the lead of the race.

Lap 96 Elliott Sadler challenges Kyle Larson for the lead but Kyle Larson holds on to the lead.

The caution flag comes out for the second “big one” after drivers get four wide with only three laps remaining in the race. Ryan Reed and Cole Custer were involved in the race.

In an overtime event, Kyle Larson brings the field down for the green flag restart. With a little help from Justin Haley, Justin Allgaier challenges Larson for the lead but Kyle Larson holds on for the lead.

Kyle Larson takes the white flag but Elliott Sadler makes it a noes to nose race but Justin Haley makes it three wide and wins the race in only his second Xfinity Series race but film shows that Haley went below the double yellow line.

NASCAR has determined that Justin Haley went below the yellow line to advance his position and is disqualified; Kyle Larson is named the winner of the race with Elliott Sadler coming in second for the fourth time.
