After the longest race of the season last weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Furniture Row Racing number 78 car driven by Martin Truex Jr was charged with having one of the lug nuts improperly secured in post race inspection. As a result of the infraction, True’s crew chief Cole Pearn was fined $10,000.
In the Xfinity Series, the number 20 Joe Gibbs Racing car driven by Christopher Bell was charged with failing the height measurement requirements during post race inspection. As a result of the infraction, crew chief Jason Ratcliff has been suspended for one race and charged with a $10,000 fine, car owner Joe Gibbs has been docked 10 points, and driver Christopher Bell has been docked 10 driver points after finishing second in the Alsco 300 on Saturday.
The number eight BJ McLeod Motorsports car driven by Tommy Joe Martins was charged with a lug nut infraction when post race inspection revealed that two of the 20 lug nuts were not properly secured. Crew chief Keith Wolfe was fined $10,000 and suspended one race for the infraction.
