For NASCAR teams who have difficulty making it through the inspection process prior to qualifying are charged with serving a loss of practice time. Last week before the Daytona 500, several teams were charged with a reduction in their practice time.
But when it came to post race inspection, only one team was charged with a penalty that will result in fines and suspension.
The number 41 ThorSport truck driven by Ben Rhodes from the Camping World Truck Series was found to fail the height measurements in post race inspection after the NextEra Energy Resources 250 on Friday February 16.
As a result of the infraction, the 41 truck crew chief Eddie Troconis has been fined $5,000 and is suspended from the next Camping World Truck Series race – which will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday February 24. The team has also been docked 10 owner points and Ben Rhodes has been docked 10 driver points. Rhodes finished the NextEra Energy Resources 250 in fourth place.
