The cold winds of November have set in and were howling outside but inside the Bear’s Den Showroom at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino the fans were experiences some Strange Days…
On November 24 the house was filed with fans who came to see The Doors tribute band Strange Days who made their first visit to to Niagara Falls and the Bear’s Den for the performance.
Choosing to truly embody the persona of the original band, the guys did not introduce themselves but instead used the names of Jim Morrison and he Doors. And like the original band there was singer Jim Morrison, keyboards, drums, and guitar but no bass.
Early in the show “Jim” informed the crowd that they were there to have some fun. And as it turned out that fun included the audience. Jim” freely invited fans to join in on and encouraged everyone to dance – even it if meant just “polishing the furniture”.
The hour and a half show was packed with music that featured pieces with extended solos, mash ups, and medleys.
Along with the smash hits “Light My Fire”, “Love Her Madly”, and “Riders on the Storm” Strange Days performed “Break on Through”, “Love Me Two Times”, “People are Strange”, “20th Century Fox”, “Alabama Song”, “ Backdoor Man”, “Five to One”, “Spanish Caravan”, “Hello I Love You”, “Love Street”, “Touch Me”, “Roadhouse Blues”, “Peace Frog”, “Carol”, “G.L.O.R.I.A.”, “The Crystal Ship”, and “L.A. Woman”.
Before ending the show, “Jim” thanked Seneca Niagara for their forward thinking and the wonderful venue.
Strange Days ended the show with an encore performance of “Souln” before meeting with fans and posing for photos.
