On December 2 Grammy and Tony Award nominee Michael Cavanaugh brought his Billy Joel inspired show to the Bear’s Den Showroom at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino.

Billy Joel himself chose Cavanaugh to perform the lead in the Broadway musical “Movin’ Out” that was inspired by and featured Joel’s music.

During the show Cavanaugh perform a number of songs from the show including what he thought was the most important song in the show “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant”.

Along with performances of “My Life”, “Movin’ Out”, “he’s Got a Way”, and since we are in New Y9rk – “A New York State of Mind”, “Miami 2017”, “Uptown Girls”, “Allentown”, “I Go to Extremes”, “She’s Always a Woman” “Only the Good Die Young”, “It’s Still Rock and Roll”, “Just the Way You Are”, and “You May be Right”, Cavanaugh performed an original song and the Sir Elton John songs “Pinball Wizard” and “Saturday Night’s All Right for Fighting”. Cavanaugh also took the original rock and roll piano player – Jerry Le Lewis – with “Great Balls of Fire”.

As fans entered the Bear’s Den they were humming and singing the Billy Joel smash “Piano Man”. Cavanaugh chose to end the show with the hit song and had the entire house singing along.

After the show, Cavanaugh met with fans to sign autographs and to pose for photos.
