The Craftsman Truck Series kicks off a doubleheader weekend with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Rockingham Speedway for the Black’s Tires 200.

Practice was shortened by rain and qualifying is pushed back while NASCAR gets the track dried.

During the track drying process one of the track dryers “blew up”, spewing water all over the track.

Spire Motorsports’ Chris Showalter has been to every Truck Series race since it began back in 1995.

Thirty-eight teams brought trucks to Rockingham for 36 starting spots.  The Cup Series has a rare Sunday off this weekend to celebrate Easter.  Carson Hocevar is among the drivers looking to make the race.  Corey Heim is also among the drivers in the field.

Kaden Honeycutt topped the leaderboard in the shortened practice session.

Corey Heim has won a Truck Series race at 20 different tracks.  If he manages to win the race today, he will pass Kyle Busch for the most wins at different tracks.  At 23 years old, he currently stands in fifth place for overall Truck Series wins.

After a delay of over 30 minutes, the track is dry and ready for qualifying.

Jonathan Shafer, Clayton Green, and Spencer Boyd will not be making a qualifying run.  Shafer wrecked his truck during practice and as a result will not be making the race

Connor Hall is the first driver on the track and posted a time of 22.724 seconds.

Jake Garcia set a new track record with a qualifying time of 21.893 seconds around the one mile track and put his number 98 truck on the pole with Tanner Gray starting alongside.  Garcia is the only driver to break the 22 second mark.
