I love music but have never written a song – not sure I know how. I did write a poem that I would love to see put to music and there were promises but it never happened.
I am also an artist, photographer, and journalist.
My writing is all non-fiction; I have never really tried to write a work of fiction – outside English assignments in school.
My photograph collection includes thousands of photos taken while covering concerts; but my passion is nature – sunsets, water scenes, etc. There are probably a few thousand of those too.
Some of my artwork is paintings done in a class; but there again when I am left to my own devices, I prefer natural paintings – seascapes and sunsets.
But I also create other things – crocheted hats, hand-crafted books, and the big hit is my soap. I make glycerin soap every year as a Christmas gift to friends and family. It has become a highly anticipated item.
I have also crocheted more than my share of afghans and baby blankets that have become cherished items.
All of these things have been created as a gift; but I don’t think it could be a profitable venture because people don’t want to pay for the time it takes to create these things.
When I make something, I do so because I want to do so and enjoy doing it.
Creativity is a great outlet that goes beyond just having some fun. Some of us create for the joy of creating; while others create and share it with the world.
