On Oct 5, 2025 Cup Series driver Shane van Gisbergen earned his fifth win of the season and it was his fifth race in a row.  The New Zealand born driver also won the Chicago Street Race in 2023 before becoming a full time driver in NASCAR.

Only eight drivers in NASCAR history have won multiple road course races consecutively… and only one of them has more than van Gisbergen.

David Pearson, Tim Richmond, Rusty Wallace, and Tony Stewart have each won three road course races in a row.

It should be noted that for many years, the NASCAR Cup Series ran only two road course races each year – Sonoma and Watkins Glen.  In recent years, the Cup Series schedule has included six or seven each year.

Dan Gurney and Chase Elliott have each won four road course races in a row.

Shane van Gisbergen has won five road course races; all in 2025 plus the Chicago Street race in 2023.  SVG ran the Xfinity Series full time in 2024.

Four time Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon tops the list with six road course wins in a row.
