After 25 years behind the wheel in the Craftsman Truck Series and three championships, Matt Crafton has decided it is time to hang up the steering wheel and retire.

For 24 of those 25 years, the 49 year old Crafton has driven the bright yellow Thor Sport number 88 truck.  In 2004 drove the number six truck for Kevin Harvick Inc.

During that 25 year career, Crafton won the Truck Series Championship in in 2013, 2014 and 2019 and remains the only driver to win the championship in back to back seasons; has finished in the top 10 at the end of the year for 17 consecutive seasons (2007-2023), has 15 race wins, 135 to fives, and 331 top 10’s.  Since joining the Craftsman Truck Series in 2000, Crafton has made 585 race starts.

Thor Sport teammate and driver of the 98 truck, Ty Majeski will be taking over the driving duties of the number 88 truck next season.  The reigning Truck Series champion, Majeski has finished in the top 10 of the Truck Championship Series for the past three seasons.

There is no word yet whether Menards will continue to sponsor the 88 truck or who will be taking over the driving duties for the number 98 truck.

The Craftsman Truck Series ended their regular season last weekend at Richmond Raceway.  Crafton finished the season in 16th place.
