For the past several months the Opera Ghost has been dropping hints all over New York City about his return to Broadway. The elusive spirit was even spotted at the recent Tony Awards gala. In fact, the “OG” has been dropping hints of making a return almost from the moment the final curtain dropped at the Majestic Theatre in 2023.
It appears that a revival of “The Phantom of the Opera” is imminent; so much so, that cast members are being announced.
However, there will be some very noticeable changes when the show reappears…including the name. “Masquerade” is set to be an immersive show where the audience becomes a part of the show. The currently running musical “Cabaret” is such a show.
The Opera Ghose promises an official announcement about tickets is set for June 30.
Reports are that previews of the show will begins July 31 at 218 W. 57th Street.
