All drivers meat at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a triple header weekend to celebrate Memorial Day weekend and to honour those who serve and have served.

The Craftsman Truck Series gets the weekend started with the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

Thirty-four teams have brought trucks to CMS including Cup Series driver Ross “Melon Man” Chastain and Kyle “Rowdy” Busch.  Parker Kligerman returns to the Truck Series for the race.

The drivers have been divided into two groups and will get a 25 minute practice session before making single truck, single round qualifying to set the field.

Timmy Hill is making start number 500 tonight!

Keven Harvick and Joey Logano joins Michael Waltrip for Truck Series for the Truck Series broadcast this week.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Justin Carroll who posted a time of 33.570 seconds around the mile and a half track.

Stefan Parson is the first driver to break the 31 second mark with a time of 30.690 seconds.
Ross Chastain posted a time of 30, 239 seconds on his qualifying run.

Stewart Friesen goes out to make his qualifying run and the truck shuts down.  The safety truck comes out to give Friesen a push back to pit road.

With a time of 30.177 seconds Gio Ruggiero puts his number 17 truck on the pole for his first career pole.  Tanner Gray will start on the front row.

The drivers practiced and made qualifying runs during the daytime but will be racing under the lights with cooler temperatures.

Stages one and two of the race are just 30 laps each with stage three lasting 74 laps for a total of 134 laps around the mile and a half track.  The drivers can run 50 to 55 green flag laps on a single load of fuel.  The teams have four sets of tires for tonight’s race.

Gio Ruggiero brings the field down for the green flag start of the race on the inside lane with Tanner Gray alongside.  Ruggiero edges out in front for the lead after a push from Corey Heim.  Drivers are three wide going into turn one.

Lap two, the top five are Corey Heim, Gio Ruggiero, Tanner Gray, Ross Chastain, and Daniel Hemric.

Gio Ruggiero and Corey Heim battle for the lead; swapping it back and forth.

Gio Ruggiero has some debris on his greille and pulls up behind Corey Heim to blow it off.

Lap four, after starting in 12th place, Kyle Busch is in the top 10.

Lap five, Melon Man Ross Chastain takes the lead.

Chastain scrapes the wall; Corey Heim moves up to battle with Chastain for the lead with Gio Ruggiero on their bumper.

Kaden Honeycutt brushes the wall but the track stays green.

Lap eight, Ross Chastain leads the race with Corey Heim in second; Gio Ruggiero, Daniel Hemric, and Layne Riggs round out the top five.

Lap 10, Layne Riggs and Daniel Hemric battle for fourth.

Lap eleven, Ross Chastain has a third of a second lead on Corey Heim; Gio Ruggiero, Layne Riggs, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Eighth place driver Kyle Busch has eight Charlotte Motor Speedway wins in a truck.

Lap 16, Ross Chastain and Corey Heim battle for the lead with Heim getting out in front.

Layne Riggs has passed Gio Ruggiero for third.

Lap 17, Ross Chastain and Corey Heim continue to battle for the lead.

Lap 19, Corey Heim has a lead of over half a second on Ross Chastain; Layne Riggs, Gio Ruggiero, and Kaden Honeycutt round out the top five.  Kyle Busch is just outside the top five in sixth place.

Lap 22, Corey Heim has pulled out to a lead of nearly a second and a half on Ross Chastain; Layne Riggs, Gio Ruggiero, and Kaden Honeycutt round out the top five.

Kaden Honeycutt passes Gio Ruggiero for fourth.

Lap 25, Corey Heim now has a lead of over two seconds on Ross Chastain and has begun lapping slower trucks.

Kyle Busch passes Gio Ruggiero for fifth.

With a lead of over two seconds Corey Heim wins stage one for his seventh stage win of the season.

Toni Breidinger blew a tire at the end of stage one and hit the wall.  She had to come down pit road before it was open for repairs and fresh tires.  For pitting when pit road was closed, she will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Stewart Friesen and Matt Mills were charged with uncontrolled tires and Andres Perez was charged with crew coming over the wall too soon.  The drivers will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Once again Corey Heim is “driving it like he stole it” with a five second lead as Kyle Busch and Ross Chastain battle for second with Layne Riggs and Kaden Honeycutt rounding out the top five.
