The Craftsman Truck Series joins the Cup Series All Star events at North Wilkesboro Speedway for the Window World 250.

Thirty-four team brought trucks to North Wilkesboro including Cup Series driver Kyle Busch joining the field in the 07 truck.

A storm has moved through the area and has delayed practice and qualifying for the trucks in preparation for a 1:30pm race start.

As track drying continues, NASCAR has cancelled qualifying but is hoping to get some practice time on the track for the trucks before the race.  The lineup will be determined by NASCAR’s metric of truck owner points and last race finishing order with Corey Heim and Kyle Busch on the front row.

The green flag for practice has been waved but none of the drivers have made an attempt to get out on the green track after the storm moved through.  Many of the drivers are still not in their trucks.

Derek White is the first driver to get out on the track.

Winning 38 percent of the races he enters, Kyle Busch has won 67 races in the Truck Series at 20 different tracks…North Wilkesboro is not one of those tracks…yet.  A Cup Series regular, Busch is only allowed to run five races in the Truck Series; this is his second race of the season in a truck.

Seventeen year old driver Brent Crews is making his Truck Series debut today.

Chandler Smith topped the leaderboard after a full 45 minute practice session.

Stages one and two are 70 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 250 laps around the 0.625 mile track.

Ryan Blaney joins Michael Waltrip and Jamie Little in the FOX broadcast booth for the race.

Chandler Smith will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck (brakes).

Corey Heim brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Kyle Busch alongside with Heim getting out in front for the lead.

Lap two, Corey Heim has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Kyle Busch; Gio Ruggiero, Sammy Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.  Toni Breidinger gets turned around but saves the truck and the track  stays green.

Lap eight, Corey Heim has a near two second lead on Gio Ruggiero; Kyle Busch, Stewart Friesen, and Sammy Smith round out the top five.

With a track of just over half a mile, it will not take long for the leaders to reach the back of the field and begin lapping trucks.

Lap 17, Corey Heim has already begun lapping trucks; there are 30 trucks on the lead lap.

Leading at least one lap in every race, Corey Heim has led 500 laps so far this season.

Lap 27, Corey Heim’s lead is now nearly four seconds on Gio Ruggiero; Stewart Friesen, Kyle Busch, and Sammy Smith round out the top five.

Lap 30, Corey Heim has a four second lead as he continues to extend his lead as he dominates the race.

Sammy Smith has passed Kyle Busch for fourth.

There are 26 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 34, Corey Heim continues to extend his lead and is now four and a half seconds out in front of Gio Ruggiero; Stewart Friesen, Sammy Smith, and Kyle Busch round out the top five.

Lap 39, Corey Heim is “driving it like he stole it” with a lead of over five seconds on Gio Ruggiero as he navigates slower traffic.

Lap 43, Corey Heim is approaching a six second lead on Gio Ruggiero; Stewart Friesen, Sammy Smith, and Kyle Busch round out the top five.

The first caution flag comes out on lap 47 when Tyler Tomassi is stalled on the track.

Corey Heim is among the drivers who came down pit road for service.  Gio Ruggiero is the new leader.

Ty Majeski, Jayson Alexander, Norm Benning, and Tanner Gray were caught speeding on pit road and will restart the race from the back of the field.

Gio Ruggiero brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 55 with Stewart Friesen alongside.  Drivers get three wide on the restart with Ruggiero out in front.

Four drivers have been charged with a restart violation and will have to serve pass through penalties.

Lap 63, Gio Ruggiero holds on to the lead with Stewart Friesen in second; Corey Heim, Jake Garcia, and Sammy Smith round out the top five.

With a near half second lead, Gio Ruggiero wins stage one for his first stage win.

Daniel Hemric was caught speeding on pit road and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.  Dawson Sutton and Ryan Roulette were also caught speeding.

Lap 83, the top five are Grant Enfinger, Brent Crews, Corey Heim, Tyler Ankrum, and Rajah Caruth.

Lap 90, Grant Enfinger has a near one second lead on Brent Crews; Corey Heim, Tyler Ankrum, and Rajah Caruth round out the top five. 

Lap 95, Grant Enfinger now has a lead of over a second on Brent Crews.

Lap 100, Grant Enfinger has a near two second lead on 17 year old Brent Crews who is making his truck series debut; Corey Heim, Tyler Ankrum, and Layne Riggs round out the top five.

Derek White has been charged with improper fueling and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 105, Corey Heim finally gets around Brent Crews for second; he is now nearly two seconds behind leader Grant Enfinger.

With 31 laps remaining in stage two, Sammy Smith and Layne Riggs battle for fifth.

The number two truck of Derek White has been posted for not making minimum speed and will have to take his truck to the garage.

Lap 114, Corey Heim has begun closing the gap on leader Grant Enfinger and is now under two seconds out in front.

Lap 125, halfway, Grant Enfinger’s lead is down to a second and a half on Corey Heim; Sammy Smith, Tyler Ankrum, and Layne Riggs round out the top five.

Lap 132, Corey Heim has closed the gap on leader Grant Enfinger to under a second; Sammy Smith, Tyler Ankrum, and Layne Riggs round out the top five.

Lap 135, Grant Enfinger is now just half a second out in front of Corey Heim.

The caution flag comes out with three laps remaining in stage two when Conner Jones is stopped up against the wall with a flat tire.

The 44 truck of Conner Jones was charged with a restart violation and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 161, Corey Heim has just a tenth of a second lead on Chandler Smith; Layne Riggs, Stewart Friesen, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

With 81 laps remaining in the race, the drivers are getting three wide in a battle for position.

Lap 173, Corey Heim has just a quarter of a second lead on Chandler Smith; Layne Riggs, Stewart Friesen, and  Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

Lap 178, Corey Heim has a half second lead on Chandler Smith as the leaders battle slower traffic. 

Lap 185, the top five are Corey Heim, Chandler Smith, Layne Riggs, Stewart Friesen, and Gio Ruggiero with 21 trucks on the lead lap.

Just 60 laps remain in the race with Corey Heim leading the race, looking for his fourth win of the season.

Lap 197, Corey Heim has pulled out to a lead of over a second and a half on Chandler Smith; Layne Riggs, Stewart Friesen, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

After having to restart the race from the back of the field from a speeding penalty, Kyle Busch has entered the top 15.

Lap 204, Corey Heim’s lead is now nearly two seconds over Chandler Smith.

Ryan Roulette and Norm Benning are out of the race.

There are just 17 trucks on the lead lap with Rajah Caruth the last car on the lead lap.

Lap 209, Corey Heim continues to increase his lead and is now over two and a half seconds out in front of Chandler Smith.

The caution flag comes out on lap 211 Tyler Tomassi has a flat tire and gets into the wall.

All but four of the drivers come down pit road.

Kyle Busch and Kaden Honeycutt were caught speeding on pit road.  Ty Majeski was also charged with a penalty.  All of the penalty drivers will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

With 25 to go, Kyle Busch is in 15th after a second speeding penalty. Corey Heim has a half second lead on Chandler Smith; Layne Riggs, Tyler Ankrum, and Brent Crews round out the top five.

Twenty to go and there are 18 trucks on the lead lap with Corey Heim just a third of a second out in front.  On fresher tires, Chandler Smith is closing the gap on leader Corey Heim.

Fifteen to go, Corey Heim holds on to the lead by a third of a second on Chandler Smith.

Ten to go, Corey Heim holds on to a third of a second lead on Chandler Smith.

Eight to go, Corey Heim has edged out to a half second lead on Chandler Smith.

The caution flag comes out with just five laps remaining in the race when Brent Crews spins out after contact with Ben Rhodes.  Corey Heim is the leader.

The race goes into overtime!
