This weekend NASCAR will travel to its first road course race of the season.  For many years, NASCAR visited just two road courses each season – Sonoma and Watkins Glen -; now the drivers can see as many as seven road courses including a street race.

When the 37 drivers come to COTA – Circuit of the Americas – this weekend, less than half of them have any wins on a road course.

Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez, Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman, and Chris Buescher each have a single race course win.

In his first visit to NASCAR, New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen won the rain delayed inaugural street course race in Chicago.

Christopher Bell and William Byron have each earned two road course wins.

AJ Allmendinger and Tyler Reddick have each won a road course race three times.

Among his 66 Cup Series race wins, Kyle Busch has crossed the finish line first in four road course races.

Seemingly able to win anywhere in anything, Kyle Larson has won a road course race six times.

But one driver has topped the list with seven road course wins – Chase Elliott!

But when it comes to all time NASCAR road course wins, there are 19 drivers who have earned wins.

Current driver Tyler Reddick is tied with Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty, David Pearson, Ernie Irvan, and Geoffrey Bodine with three wins.

Kyle Busch and Mark Martin each have four wins.

Martin Truex Jr, Darrell Waltrip, and Tim Richmond each have five road course wins.

Kyle Larson is tied with Rusty Wallace, Bobby Allison, and Ricky Rudd with six road course wins.

Chase Elliott stands alone in third place with seven road course wins.

Tony Stewart holds down second place with eight road course wins.

And leading the list of all time road course champions is Jeff Gordon with nine wins.
