There are things that stay with us all our lives. Habits, loves, and even hates are all instilled in our psyche when we are young.
For me those include my passion for music and reading; as well as integrity, honesty, and truthfulness.
But there are also things that we outgrow as we get older.
In some ways my childhood was not typical, medical issues and a couple of moves played a major role.
But as I thought it over, there is one thing that I have not done in many years – decades even – and that is playing with paper dolls. My mother would give me her old pattern books and I could use them to make my own paper dolls, complete with outfits.
These days if I am looking at a pattern book, it is because I am looking for a specific pattern for sewing.
When I was really small we had a swing set in the back yard. I haven’t been on a swing in a very long time but if I came across one, I just might stop and sit for a bit. I do love a porch swing! Mine didn’t make the move, so come warmer weather, I am going to have to get a new one!
